Projects Vs. Writer Pools
I've been on CC for a long time, but wasn't paying attention to writer pools and projects. I was recently invited to join two projects. One has a list of six articles to write, the other nothing yet. Does this mean the six articles are assigned to everyone in the project? Is it a writer pool? My ema...

Re: Spirituality, Telepathy and Hauntings.
I find that most articles sell, too. I was just curious about the spirituality ones because it's definitely a topic that interests me yet I have not written anything about it. I like the thought of writing for catalog vs. orders....makes life interesting.

Spirituality, Telepathy and Hauntings.
So, I've been a writer here at CC for a number of years, but I just got back into writing online the past few months. I admit, the standing request for articles on hauntings, spirituality, vampirism, telepathy, etc., intrigues me but I don't see the SEO value in any of it. I'd love to write about th...

Re: Request a Bit of a Turnoff?
I contacted the buyer to make sure it wasn't one of my articles because I wanted to be sure the sources I have been using were accurate. I don't want to be relying on sites that are supplying bad info. Just finished The Law of Nines by Terry Goodkind. Too gruesome for me usually, but it was like wat...

Re: Request a Bit of a Turnoff?
Actually, I do feel better, thanks. Mostly it was the "I found fact errors that I had to correct" that got under my skin for some reason. It is good to be clear in a request about what you want, but: "Someone wrote in an article that supermodels must all weigh 300 pounds in order to b...

Request a Bit of a Turnoff?
I hope I'm not going out of bounds here, but this request seemed a bit, uhhhm, rude? "I am looking for a US based writer with real estate experience who will write articles that apply to home buyers or home sellers nation wide-if the article can include both audiences that’s a plus but generall...

Re: Affiliates (recruited authors)
Just adding my two cents because I've often been curious about these things. Speaking only for myself, I have 15 affiliates and not one of them has ever had an article published. People are either not submitting and forgetting about the site, not sure what to write, or can't write to the standard CC...

Re: A few questions...
[quote]First, I am trying to give myself a "progress report" and wondered if there is anything like a "normal" curve of success in selling, based on number of articles posted or time since becoming a member. Simply stated is a 30% or 50% or 70% sell rate typical and does it norma...

Re: Making offers.
CC seems to be one of the highest paying markets out there for writers to sell their articles...although I could be wrong, it's been the most profitable for me per word.

Confused about offering content for usage only
From reading the forum, I thought that I learned we are able to submit content published elsewhere as long as it is clear that we are the author. I then submitted one article from my helium account that was accepted immediately. A second article from my helium account was rejected for not being orig...

Re: Random accusatory emails?
I just re-read my emails to/from the affiliate for the third time, just to check again. No contact info at all. It is like my reply from two days ago was not read and instead another form email was sent to me. Weird.

Random accusatory emails?
I received an email last week stating that "we see you are sending contact info to buyers" . I responded with an appropriate "I was sending an email to one of my affilates(writers), relaying the honest, fair practices of CC" and it contained no contact info at all. I just receive...

Re: Depression and Writing: How do you get through it?
Little white pills, little pink pills a little yellow pill or two. Kava tea, St. John's wort, melatonin, Rescue Remedy, Walking, accupuncture, reiki, full spectrum light bulbs, therapy, no sugar diet.... I've tried a thing or two. I have no "official" diagnosis, other than possibly low gra...

Re: Can Authors Be Told Where Articles Are Published?
A simple way to find out where your articles have been published is to enter the text of your article in Copyscape (www.copyscape.com) and search for duplicate content. You will quickly find where your article is located on the internet. The cost to search is a nickel. Good luck!
