Re: Usage Rights Being Violated?
Thank you both for the informative responses. Ed... I have a couple follow up questions. 1. Would I write my name at the top of the article within the document itself? 2. How can I know if the rewritten version (or any version, for that matter) of an article is stolen or purchased? It seems impossib...

Usage Rights Being Violated?
I don't know if my work was stolen or if the terms of use are being violated because I don't know who bought the usage rights. In any case, the usage rights to one of my articles were purchased twice in the last week or so. I did a google search for the article and found two versions of it. One was ...

Responding to Public Requests
Is there any way to tell if a public request is still active? Is there an indication that the request has been filled?
Or do you just need to contact the requester and ask?
Thanks!

Okay, so... if CC provides fair warning that the article has previously been published, that fulfills a legal obligation about selling full and unique rights? Well, none of my CC articles have been published prior to being listed on CC. This is not a personal issue for me and I have no hostile inten...

First Sale... But who bought it?
Well, I finally had my first sale (wooohooo!). Someone purchased usage rights to one of my articles. I would like to keep a record of where my work is being published. Unfortunately, I can't seem to access any info on the purchaser. Is this by design? If so, how are we to build a resume? Thanks for ...

New Constant~~ You don't sound trite. I love that line about the hikers. I'll have to use it on my son at some point. Congrats on your acquisition! You're right about the generous and patient nature of writers (particularly Ed) in this organization. I'm sure many of us would not submit work or striv...

Multiple Categories for One Article?
Forgive me if this is already possible. I haven't been able to do it. Is it possible to list one article in multiple categories or sub-categories? Some articles are well suited for more than one category or subcategory. If an article is about Liquors for the Holidays, would it go under Liquor or Hol...

Ed~ Thank you for again answering my questions. I really appreciate it. It must be very frustrating to go through the effort of explaining things only to have people change their articles to avoid the issue all-together. Perhaps it is laziness, but I can also see how people could get confused or ove...

Thank you both. I think I have visited the first link earlier, but I had not seen the second link... I forgot these guidelines weren't in the help section. Ed~ Is it appropriate to give credit only when quoting or paraphrasing? Are we supposed to give credit for general reference material? I thought...
