Re: Stolen content - what's the Best Practice for reporting?
Ed, David: My gripe is not so much the fact that my article gets stolen. I understand that this is a hazard of publishing work on the internet. Here is my gripe: 1) Constant-Content sells content under certain terms of use. The "Usage License", for instance, states that the purchaser must ...

Re: Stolen content - what's the Best Practice for reporting?
I give up. Google Alerts just turned up another instance of my full article, which has sold via the usage license some 6 times since I posted it in 2005. The article was missing my by-line, in direct violation of the usage license terms. I contacted support, because I have been told repeatedly that ...

Re: Stolen content - what's the Best Practice for reporting?
Nearly two months later, I have just got a brand-new Google Alert pointing me to the URL Celeste (ezinearticles.com) mentioned a couple of posts back in this thread.
I've sent another email to support about it and I hope for a response.

Re: Stolen content - what's the Best Practice for reporting?
Wow! David, jrichards, everyone, THANK YOU. I hadn't even gotten around to following Hayley's advice yet - my week hasn't been as long as yours, goodness, but it's been long enough - and was astounded to see such an outpouring of support when I refreshed the forum thead in my browser. At this time, ...

I will try that. Thank you so much! It's good to have this proceedure confirmed. In the interest of completion, here's the last link: http://www.ithighway.co.uk/web-hosting-options-shared-hosting-or-dedicated-server.asp Entire article, but my by-line is absent (no by-line at all); possibly a custome...

Re: Stolen content - what's the Best Practice for reporting?
Hayley, to tell you the truth, this isn't the first time I've attempted to get a response from Support regarding stolen content and missing by-lines. If you look at my posting history, there's about two years when I didn't upload any articles at all - that was because I was so very, very discouraged...

Stolen content - what's the Best Practice for reporting?
Every time one of my Usage articles gets rebought, I make sure I have a Google alert for it so I can see where it comes up. As a result, I've become aware of several stolen content/plagiarism/missing or misattributed by-line situations concerning one of my articles. The article: "Web Hosting Op...

Re: Constant Content Gets an Update
I only just saw the site update today, and haven't quite had a chance to explore all the details. My first reaction is - wow, this is a much cleaner and more elegant look! Thanks!
I'm sure I'll come up with nitpicky things to say given time. But this was my first thought.

Re: Game tutorial with screenshots?
Thanks for the advice, Barry. Your recommendation to check the game's Terms of Service is definitely a one. In the case of the game I'm thinking of, the Terms do not make the answer here obvious. People use screenshots frequently in their posts on the game forum and for personal use, and they upload...

Re: Game tutorial with screenshots?
I looked around for previous discussions of the topic, but missed this one. Thanks for the reference! And also for the word of caution. I may end up creating my own (very simple) graphics to illustrate the point, just to stay on the safe side.

Game tutorial with screenshots?
I'm thinking of writing some tutorials for an online multiplayer video game - how to improve your skill at this or that mini-game. If I were doing this on my own blog, I'd accompany the writing with screen-shots illustrating the concepts described. Is that allowed here? Which is to say... 1) May we ...

Re: Please Post Your Technical Problems Here
Both the links "My Recently Sold Content" and "Recently Sold Content" go to the same place: a page showing the most recent sales by any member across the whole website.
Surely "My Recently Sold Content" should link to only content of mine that recently sold?

Re: Advice on Best Offer
"...but $6? Do you guys sell unique content for this price? Like I say, I'm new and don't know what is appropriate. I could have earned six dollars as a manager at McDonald's in the time it took to write my article (and they have a health plan!). Any advice would be appreciated." I can tel...
