Re: How much are we worth?

dmgray wrote:$4 for full rights on a $40 article that is 2 days old!
That's the same guy who offered me $4 for full rights on an $80 article. Sigh. So much for it being a typo.

Re: How much are we worth?

I would certainly hope it was an error.

Ack, don't mind my earlier post. I was annoyed. Maybe it was a typo and as soon as they see that I rejected the offer, they'll notice it and send another offer with the typo fixed.

Re: How much are we worth?

I just received an offer for an article I have priced at $80 for full rights. Buyer offered $4. $4. What I want for "buyers" like that isn't a counter-offer submission form, it's a file-a-complaint submission form. As I pointed out in an earlier thread, there is a minimum price guideline. ...

I've seen this concept elsewhere and always enjoyed it for the cameraderie and buttock-prodding when I was feeling lazy. Thought we might give it a go here on CC. I managed 1734 words yesterday, which is phenomenal for me lately. I'm not doing a word-count goal, because I've yet to reach o...

Re: House Cleaning

I approach housecleaning in the same manner as writing (and usually at the same time). If I waited around for inspiration, or to "feel like it", then I'd never get anything done. So... BIC - Butt In Chair. Sit and write, whether I'm inspire, whether I feel like it or not, just sit and star...

Re: Timeframe for new articles approval

That's not right. Maybe send a message, it might have gotten lost in the queue.

Normal for me is from a few hours to up to two days.

Re: Offers - didn't I just read something...

What I mean to say is, should I be reporting it to someone? Or is it fine for the customers to make any offer they want, and only a violation of the rules if the author accepts it? I found the bit where it says the articles must sell for $7 use but it doesn't say anything about what to do in this si...

Site gone wonky

There's something wrong. The forum looks normal when I'm logged out. When I log in, everything goes gray and compresses together, so I can't see where the forums are or what's been posted. That's why I posted this here, because it's what I could find (the forum links at the bottom are all on top of ...

Offers - didn't I just read something...

I just received six offers for use licences. Three are for $7 on articles I have priced for use at $30-35. Three are offers of $6 on articles I have priced for use at $10-25. The only one I consider even remotely reasonable is the offer for $6 on the one I had priced for $10. The other five are all ...

Re: Advice on Best Offer

I just started using it on my most recent submissions. I'm still nervous about my pricing so this way I can set a price I might be a bit leery is a touch high (you know the thinking, "Is $100 too much? I should have put it at $80. But I want my work to be valued, so maybe $100.") and then ...

Re: Pricing of articles - Who is selling for $1 - $5?

BWhite, I write in Wordpad. It usually comes standard in the software package of most desktops. Go into your Start menu, then All Programs, then Accessories. You should find Wordpad there. It's very simple software, I open new document, change font to Times New Roman, change size to 12, bold for the...

Hayley, is it possible to see the sales for the whole month? All I can see is one page of the most recently sold.

Re: Anyone up for a Daily Check-In?

Hayley, do you live in Australia or are you on holiday? WOOOOO for greed. A little greed is a great thing. I'm a wee bummed. Got another rejection, and have subsequently sworn off semi-colons for life. Or, at least in articles. A fifteen-year bad habit is going to get me booted off this site. Plus m...

Re: I Should Be Writing

Hurrah for gratification! I just told someone the other day what a difference it is when family or friends say you're such a good writer and ought to make money at it, and when someone actually offers you money in exchange for your work. Family and friends might just be saying nice things, but stran...
