Using an article in my online portfolio
I'm in the middle of setting up a web page to sell myself as a copywriter, and want to rewrite one of the articles I wrote and use it in my online portfolio. This article was written for a request but not purchased, and doesn't have any rights sold yet. I assume I can use it as long as I remove the ...

Re: sales disappeared
Both of mine that were bought fraudulently are still missing full/unique rights.
Anything we can do to speed this up?

Re: sales disappeared
I had two articles sold to the same buyer for first time usage rights. Kind of concerns me, considering that now the articles they bought are only showing up for usage. Hope this gets fixed!

Re: Uhh, whoops
Thanks. My first sale, and it has an extra and where it shouldn't be.
Next time I'm going to wait a few days before the final proofread and upload.

Uhh, whoops
What if you notice a problem in one of your articles that has been accepted? Normally I would just take it down and resubmit, but this article had a usage rights sale before I noticed the issue. Is there a way to get the corrected version to the buyer afterwards?

Re: Who am I?
You can write on anything, as long as it's not fiction or poetry, and doesn't use the first person perspective.

Re: Getting Over An Ex-Boyfriend
You'll want to check the rejection message. There should be a short explanation on what needs to be fixed.

Advertising yourself elsewhere?
I'm a member of a few different forums, and I was thinking of adding a link to my author's page here on CC into my signature or profile page on other sites. Something like 'Freelance writer for hire. See my articles here: (My CC page link)'

Semicolons... Who uses them?
I recently got an article bounced due to semicolon abuse, which I thought was odd because I never use them. Turns out I stuck one in by accident as a typo in place of a comma, but it did get me thinking... Does anyone actually use semicolons anymore? I rarely see them in print articles or online. IM...

Re: Pricing of articles - Who is selling for $1 - $5?
I was perusing through the Freelance Freedom webcomic and found a reply to one of them pointing to this Youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj5IV23g-fE I've really got to see this movie. I wonder if we can make it required viewing for everyone who comes on here and gives their work cut rat...

Just when you thought they couldn't get any cheaper...
As I stated in my intro post, I signed up at a couple of other places before CC and sometimes troll other job listing boards to get ideas on what to write and submit here. Well, I found this little 'gem' on elance: Hi, I am looking for a highly skilled team of article writers. Each article will be o...

Re: Newb from Boise
Thanks for the welcome. I figured that the $3K article was something of a fluke, since from what I remember in the article title it was on some obscure programming language or something like that. I'm trying to price my own articles close to what the recommendations state. Maybe a little on the high...

Re: Longer login period?
I was going to make a thread on this, but then I noticed that there was one already. Would it be possible to extend the login timeout period? I use Word to create my articles, and when I paste in my example text, I often notice something I want to change in the article. By the time I go back and rew...

Greetings from the PNW! I'm a 33 year old single woman currently working in the telecommunications industry. I've always liked writing and always took pride in my writing skills, but never considered it as a way to make actual money. When I was in school I always tested far above my grade level, to ...
