Short summary editing
Can anyone advise on how to edit the short summary after rejection? I haven't been on CC for quite a while and came back recently, adding a new article. The draft has been rejected and I think it's because the short summary talks about 'This 830 word article...', as I always used to do it. I can rew...

Re: Introducing Writer Pools
Hi, thanks for the answers and the reassurances. I've been on holiday for a few weeks and haven't been able to see the forum. From a personal point of view, CC's commitment to their catalogue and the ongoing ability for it to grow organically through on-spec writing and submission is very encouragin...

Re: Introducing Writer Pools
Hi there. Can you clarify what CC's long term intentions are regarding writer pools? For example, does this mean: - public requests will no longer be public, but restricted only to pool writers of the subject concerned? - submission of existing articles to buyers making requests will no longer be po...

Re: Update to Author Status Page
Any chance we could have the referral link added back to the author status page? Would be handy to see again there somewhere if it can be fitted in.

Re: How long does it take you to create an article?
For me, it very much depends on the subject. Some subjects I know very well can see me crank out a 500 word article in 10 minutes, or even 1,000 words in 20 to 25 minutes if I've got a real flow going and I know what I want to get across. After that, editing can take maybe another 15 to 20 minutes f...

Re: All content showing up as sold or removed
I've tried now with IE8 and it all appears fine, so not sure what's causing the issue - would appear to be browser related.

All content showing up as sold or removed
I've noticed that all the articles I click into just now are showing up as sold and removed, meaning I can't see the summary and excerpts. Is this a real problem or do I just have a browser issue? I'm using IE6 (still) on the PC that has the issue, but I'll check with IE8 later tonight on my other l...

Re: Do I Need an MSWord Lesson?
If you press return (i.e. a hard return) twice in Word, it will delete the 'spare' bullet that it put in for the line you didn't enter text into. As you have found out though, it will also stay indented. This is because the style of that line has generally stayed as a bulleted line style. You need t...

Re: minimum offer price
I'm not keen on a reserve price system either. I didn't join CC to auction my content. I am quite happy to have the ability to swap messages with a customer who wants to make an offer. I'm well capable of being diplomatic and letting a customer know where the line is on a particular article. That li...

Re: Use of comma after Thus
I would agree with Evelyn. Removing the 'thus' would be my preference. I recently contributed to and edited a bid document which one of the other contributors had used to satify his 'thus fetish'. I ended up rewording as many of the paragraphs as possible to remove the word. The end result, in my op...

Re: How Many Articles Per Week?
You might also want to consider that if your figures are based on needing to sell 25 articles per week, your submissions may have to be significantly higher than this as there's no guarantee every article will sell. If you're writing for requests, your submission rate may be lower, provided your qua...

Re: minimum offer price
I had another three offers last week from the same customer that has low-balled me in the past. This time an all time low of $3 each for full rights. Needless to say I declined the gracious offer. On the other hand, I had a low offer made by another customer a while back. When I declined it, he cont...

Re: Pitifully low offer
I've had offers of $5 and $6 for full rights on articles. Needless to say those kind offers were declined. Three of those offers were from the same person. I too had considered AC but was amazed to see they don't want non-US writers. Fair enough, I'll go elsewhere. I've also got a bit of experience ...

Re: A few questions
Hi Wolf. I'm the UK too and find CC a great way to sell articles although I am very much a hobbyist. I've got a few under my belt now with a variety of licence types sold. I found to get started and get some sale metrics on the board that pricing my content really competitively helped (but not givin...
