Re: How to Sell More Articles
libby said "You may want to consider revisiting C-C's pricing guidelines on the submission page. The least asking price suggested for Usage is 9 cents/wd and the least for Full Rights is 13 cents/wd." I said this previously. Don't know where my math was on the 9 cents thing. Sorry. Not bei...

requests/best offer
1. When a customer requests an article and lists a specific price such as $10., is he usually thinking of Usage or Full Rights? If customer offers a range $10-$20, is he figuring $10. for Usage and $20 for Full? If customer offers a range $10-$20 and you have an already approved, existing article wi...

Hi Lysis,
Did you mean that you have to change the file format to .doc on your Word documents every time you save a document? Try going to Word Options>Save. You can change it permanently (or until you want to change it again).

I'm so happy for you both. I had a similar delivery. My husband said my face was purple! You'll both be in my prayers tonight.

Re: How to Sell More Articles
Thank you Constant. I appreciate the info, especially suggesting the asking price of approximately 6-9 cents. Deciding on prices was more difficult than writing/editing! You may want to consider revisiting C-C's pricing guidelines on the submission page. The least asking price suggested for Usage is...

Thank you all, especially for the specific examples. That is what I wanted, a large view. I'm not discouraged but thanks for caring. Continued sales wish to all!

Re: hit list
Thanks Ed, Another question - I was picking keywords based on 1) the number of times they appear and 2) what people might search for. But I notice the approved articles have a modified list of keywords. Is CC's list based on word appearance or searchability? Perhaps I haven't mastered the knack of c...

Re: hit list
Thank you both. Celeste your idea about adding keywords...what is the max in keywords allowed. I don't want to go crazy, but maybe 10 max?

hit list
Experienced writers - As I watch my articles receive hits but not sell I wonder at what point I should consider changes such as price, rewrites etc. Is there a commonly accepted number of hits? Mine have received about 19 hits at this point. I suspect that is a low number, especially since some of t...

Re: title treatment
Thank you Ed. I don't know where I picked up that incorrect idea about not italicizing (I could have sworn...) This makes me much more comfortable however. But it also begs the question about my content which is up for sale with unitalicized titles. If I understand the process, once content is appro...

title treatment
I grew up always underlining the titles of books and putting quotes around titles of articles from a magazine. I know we are not to underline book titles on CC. I also thought we were not to italicize titles, just use caps correctly. This is not in the Writers Guidelines but it seems that I read it ...

Re: giving credits
Thank you both. References/advice are great. How do you know there was a purple elephant in the refrigerator? By his purple foootprints in the Swiss cheese! (circa second grade, sans purple)
