Re: Constructive Criticism Thread
Celeste, I need your help. I submitted an article Theatre and Film in South Africa for a request. The rejection was because of formatting issues. I read the formatting section again and I can't understand what was wrong. The font is Times New Roman 12. I saved it as a doc. file from the start. The s...

Re: Suspension Question & Apology
I doubt that you are suspended. Did you get an e-mail that implied something to that effect? I submitted my article in the wrong text format, the first time. I, then, submitted it again and got the same answer as you " grammar etc. I thought it was perfect when I submitted it again. The third t...

Re: Constructive Criticism Thread
Thanks Celeste and Amy. I was ready to give up but I think I will start a new article from scratch and take my time to research and write it.
You two were very inspiring, thanks again.

Re: Constructive Criticism Thread
I haven't really done a lot of reading on Othello. There are writers that claim he was of noble birth before he became a slave. Don't know if that is true. He was a general, which gives him a higher status, more on par with the aristocracy, of the time. Romeo was also seen as a tragic hero and, even...

Re: Constructive Criticism Thread
Just for interest sake, even in Shakespeare's time you will find that the tragic heroes were from noble birth or at least the aristocracy like Romeo and Juliet. The others like Macbeth, King Lear,Hamlet etc were all from noble birth. The Greek heroes (in the tragedies) were always a king or princess...

Re: Constructive Criticism Thread
Thanks for looking at it. I think I understand the problem. It is not the complete article. I wrote it with the assumption that the reader knows the text. I can understand it can be extremely confusing to someone not familiar with the text. In Greek theatre the tragic hero is always from noble birth...

Re: Constructive Criticism Thread
This article has been rejected twice and I can't submit it again. I can understand why it was rejected the first time because I had punctuation errors. Not my strong point. I ran it through Whitesmoke a couple of times and no errors. If the editor use a software program to scan the articles there wi...

Re: Word 2007
It is not in the submission guidelines but it is stated when you submit an article that it has to be txt.doc. or rtf. file. I didn't even know there is a difference between a doc. and docx file. At least I've learned something new and someone explained it nicely somewhere here in the forum.

Word 2007
Hi I submitted 3 articles of which one was rejected because of the font. I couldn't understand it because I don't always work in Times Roman so I specifically sat and re-formatted each article to that font. I had to delete the other 2 because they were the same. I, than read a topic here to say CC d...
