Re: Another pirate?
After notifying the website, then filing a DMCA, and 24 hours later reporting it to the wondrous folks who run CC, it has been taken down. I highly recommend that authors keep tabs on their unsold articles using Google Alerts or a similar program. I always set up several search strings prior to subm...

Another pirate?
I found one of my articles posted on WideDiary.com. I notified them yesterday to pull the article or I would file a DMCA notice. This morning it is still there so I filed the DMCA. The Whois shows that the registrant is out of India. It's a blog with categories of Business/Finance, Health/Fitness, a...

Re: LOL spinner gets caught at CC
Thank you for sharing! I needed a big smile
Earlier today I had to send off a DMCA notice for something I'd written (not a CC article but something of my own) so I was feeling a bit low. Good to know that sometimes karma wins.

Longest article sold: 1440 words Shortest: 245 words Highest price per word: 10 cents, my standard price for full rights. I charge 5 cents for usage so I need to sell two to recoup. Usage sales do NOT pay for my time if I only sell the one. One of my articles did sell twice. Fastest an article has s...

Common Place bugging the heck out of me!
Okay, it's been driving me crazy wondering if there's some secret joke. I've noticed lately that the forums stay pretty clear of SPAM except for one: Common Place. According to the description, the Common Place forum states that "anything goes but SPAM." I never see normal posts in there a...

Accepted Articles Eventually Sell
If you're worried about an article not selling, check out the stats for my latest sale: Time on the market: 20 months Type of sale: Full rights, full original price (I never change prices once I post an article, I don't sell myself short.) Type of article: Seasonal, 792 words Not only that, the arti...

Re: Title Glitch
I wouldn't say that few people come to the forums. Sometimes you read, but do not post if you don't have anything significant to contribute. I do a lot more reading than posting. Sometimes you're all over the forums for a spell, and then away for a spell, and then come back and catch up. I am guilty...

Re: Anybody Sell For Usage Rights?
67% of my sales have been for usage rights. However, they are not articles that I wrote someplace else and then uploaded to CC. They were virgins at the time of sale.
One of those articles sold twice; the rest have been onesies.

Re: New type of article theft?
Another of my articles popped up illegally. As I only post 1/3 excerpts, only the excerpt appears. It's almost comical because if the excerpt has portions missing in the middle where I've put [ article continues... ], they simply remove that line and post it as-is. Don't know yet if he bought it fro...

Re: New type of article theft?
I found one of the people who purchased the stolen content, and he doesn't want to take my article down as he "purchased" it. I am in the process of straightening it out but thought other authors might like to look for their articles.

Re: Just got my first offer
Some of my articles are very specific and need just the right buyer. I recently sold one that I'd written nearly two years ago. I've also had people buy one article in a series, and then come back many months later to buy the other articles in that series.
Never give up on selling an article.
