Re: switching to a Mac

Thanks for the tip. I agree about microsoft. There's the annoying bells and whistles that are more of a hindrance than anything else, and then there's the malware infestations. Windows has compounded the problem by deciding it is too dangerous for any of my programs to be accessed, so it has shut m...

Re: what happens to an article that has been re submitted?

Is it showing up in your content? Sometimes we forget to fill in a blank and it says on top we forgot something, but if we don't pay attention we miss it and the item doesn't get submitted. I did that before. I always check my content after a submission to make sure it went through. Then it should ...

Re: what happens to an article that has been re submitted?

I wrote for a public request(Why You Should Stop Smoking) and my article was rejected. I rewrote the article and I have not heard anything about the rewrite yet, but I saw where someone else's article about the subject was picked up. I was wondering if my rewritten article will still be reviewed si...

Re: Submitting Two Articles Before First Approved

I am trying to wait until I get articles accepted quickly before I go putting up a lot of stuff. I have rewritten an article that had been for a request,(Practical First Steps to Stop Smoking) and it has been about 8 days thus far, but I haven't heard about the article yet. I keep hearing that Ed is...

Re: New Submission Protocol

The new guidelines are fine with me too. I am a newbie writer and thus far I have one article that has ben accepted, and another I have rewritten. It is waiting for Eds review. I didn't mention it was for a request, as I am sure that the request has already been filled. I didn't want to put my "...

Re: Plagiarism and quotations

I suppose it isn't any more stupid of me to post a question and then answer it, than it is not to have found the answer at all. DUH. I finally clicked on the help button and found the writers guidelines, which told me what I knew I remembered and that was that if we must refer to a web site do it th...

Plagiarism and quotations

I have two questions, one is about plagiarism. I found a site that edits your content (for a price) and it includes scanning your piece for correct citations ect. I have not been able to find it yet this morning, but I believe that CC wants us to cite another web site just using the webs sites name ...

Re: New Understandings of Keyword Writing

I am so new here and have so much to learn. I really don't understand Keywords too well. I think they are the words that most commonly come up when doing a query on a subject. Is there a resource that would explain keywords and how to use them? Thanks

Re: Parallelism

I almost hesitate to comment because I am becoming more aware of just how little I understand grammar. I am learning quickly thanks to you Ed, Haley, and Celeste. There are also those who have commented on my posts whose names I do not remember; but I thank them as well. I have gained some insight in...

Re: The review

Hi yashuasgirl. You have a really good attitude about going back and reworking pieces to improve them. Your idea about reviewing a basic grammar text is a good one too - most of us can stand to brush up on the rules of language. I constantly consult a dictionary for proper usage and I keep various ...

Re: The review

Patience is a virtue around here, especially when you are starting out. Meanwhile, why not write some of those other articles. You can spend more time polishing them to meet the standards while you wait for the first two to be approved. The more polished your articles, the more likely they are to g...

Re: Contacting a requester

It's appropriate to ask relevant questions as many requests can be quite vague. Use your judgment and realize you may or may not hear back. Don't let a lack of a response postpone you from writing an article if you're interested in the topic. Sometimes, customers don't really know what they want - ...
