Re: Constructive Criticism Thread

Thanks Evelyn. I used "retweet" instead of "retweet" because I realised that that's the often used form of the word (based on online searches). I used "Non-offensive" without capitalising "offensive", since some online style guides I read suggested not capital...

March payments

Hi guys, I was looking forward to getting my first CC payment last week, but I'm yet to get anything in my Paypal account. According to the FAQ page, "payment is made the first week of the beginning of each month". Just wanted to know if the rest of you have received your payments before I...

Re: Constructive Criticism Thread

Hi everyone,

A quick question: how should I capitalize hyphenated words in a title? Should I have "Re-tweet" or Re-Tweet", "Non-offensive" or "Non-Offensive"?

Re: Constructive Criticism Thread

Thanks guys. It's just that the sentence didn't sound right when I read it aloud, and I was wondering whether I should change it to "the winners of Group Z and the runners-up of Group Y".

Thanks for the clarification on the semicolon, 4rumid.

Re: Constructive Criticism Thread

Hi guys, Consider the following sentence from a World Cup-related article I'm working on (not the actual sentence in my article. I usually avoid posting the actual content to avoid being accused of plagiarism in future as posts eventually get indexed by search engines :) ) : The stadium will host Ug...

Thanks Amy. Should I have an empty line between the sub-topic and its text?

Re: Question about lists and use of the colon

Thanks Evelyn. That was really helpful. But I still have a few more queries. If I do it like you suggested, doesn't "Cost benefits of eating mangoes" become a sub-topic? What's the accepted method of writing sub-topics on CC? Would this be correct?: Cost benefits of eating mangoes: Blah bl...

Question about lists and use of the colon

Hi everyone, I have a question about numbered lists and use of the colon. I've seen several earlier discussions about the colon, but they were about its use in article topics. Say I'm writing an article about benefits of eating mangoes. After my introduction, what I've come up with in the main body ...

Numbered lists (and other newbie questions)

Hi everyone, I am aware that numbered lists are allowable as long as double spacing is used between each item and that identation is not allowed. I'm however not clear on how to format the steps of my "how to" article: 1.One (a) something (b) something else 2. Two 3. Three I have appropria...
