Re: Greetings: New to CC

Thank you so much, Lyndsey. However I feel my background is not that impressive. My personal experience is vast but unfortunately my professional "success" is very much lacking. I hope that will soon change, and I hope that ConstantContent is the catalyst for it to do so. Thank you for the...

Re: Greetings: New to CC

All the sonnets I have written (and not immediately shredded) are Shakespearean and I always write them in iambic pentameter. I know many poets who don't, but I always learned to write sonnets in iambic meter. I guess that when looking for successful modern day satire, the Onion, is one of the first...

Re: Greetings: New to CC

I love to experiment with all types of poetry. I usually write free verse, and I write best in it, however I've had some success with forms too. I actually love to write sonnets. Although, rhyme is definitely a challenge. One thing I have found is that there will always be someone who doesn't like w...

Re: Greetings: New to CC

Almost all my poetry is published in syndication books and I have nothing recent. I confess it has been a long time since I have penned any poetry. I wonder have you heard of the website AllPoetry.com? This used to be a great place to find stunning poets and publishing opportunities, although the la...

Re: New Author- Article Rejected?

Debbie, thank you for all of your suggestions. I believe the main thing for me to attempt now is to write slower, and take more care in my word choices, phrasing, and structure. I will re-write using and remembering your suggestions/instructions. Thank you for the reminder about serial comma's. I am...

Re: New Author- Article Rejected?

The paragraph below is the introduction for the article that was rejected. In response to your suggestions, I do tend to write long sentences but I am always careful to check and re-check for structural errors. Any suggestions are welcome since I am more concerned about becoming a better writing and...

Re: New Author- Article Rejected?

Thank you Barry. I looked again at the article focusing on the things you mentioned, and again found no errors. I have also had two people (one a former teacher) look over it. I am still bewildered as to the cause of the rejection, but I am grateful that you took the time to offer your suggestions. ...

New Author- Article Rejected?

I am a new author on this site and after posting an article (for a public request), I received an email saying it was rejected. The title of the article is "Baby Wipes are Going Green." The email listed "grammatical" errors as the reason for rejection, but after combing the artic...
