Re: We accept only completely original content
I did fully identify the source of each quote: author, publication, publication date. It never occurred to me that using a quote might cause me trouble. I write for several sites, less often for CC. Perhaps I was thinking of another site that will rarely pay for an article that doesn't include a quo...

We accept only completely original content
The above "We accept only completely original content" is given as the reason my article "Virtual Net Metering" was rejected. However, the article is indeed completely original content, in the sense that it wasn't plagiarized. I wrote it myself, following a Google search of the s...

Re: How to add screen caps to an article?
CC does allow images, but it seems that the images are kept separate from the document. Or maybe I'm interpreting the guidelines wrong. There must be some way to embed images, many articles rely on a series of images. Perhaps we refer to images that are stored in separate files, but we don't actuall...

How to add screen caps to an article?
I have a "How-To" article in mind, relating to Excel use, which will benefit from embedded screen captures to clarify steps in the process (e.g., "... as shown in Figure 1 below"). I tried to submit the article with screen caps embedded, but the figures were deleted. Maybe I'm no...

How much Content Excerpt?
I know this has been asked and answered before, but in light of recent awareness that articles have been pulled from CC without payment, perhaps from the Excerpt, and sold elsewhere without authorization, I thought it prudent to revisit the issue. CC asks for one third of an article to be shown in t...

Screen shots, formatting
Two questions: I am thinking of writing some how-to articles concerning MS Excel and perhaps MS Access. For such articles, embedded screen shots are very helpful to readers. Are these allowed by CC? If so, are there any restrictions I should be aware of? I am using Word. Also, I recently submitted a...

How-To Articles: MS Excel, Word, Access?
My "day job" involves contract work using MS Excel, primarily, although I also bruit it about that I'm expert with Access and Word. However, I've avoided writing about these subjects because I can't imagine who might buy them. I can see such articles appealing to the isolated geek, but I h...

Re: Recent Added Content
Ok, I'll be patient. By the way, I can accept that my article might not sell, but I was beginning to worry that maybe the site host had died or something, before he could make my article visible to the public. It would be just my luck. Anyway, I'm relieved to hear that that isn't the case. I guess i...

My article "Sleep Deprivation: Not A Good Way To Get Ahead!" was posted to Health/Fitness and approved a couple of days ago. So far, it has received only two hits, one from the reviewer, I presume, and the other from me. This is disappointing. I am hoping that when it appears under "R...
