Re: Promotion vs. human interest
I am replying to my own post. After digging around on the forum a little bit, I think I found out what the issue is. This was for a request. The person asking for the request wanted biographical details. I don't know why, but they did. So I cut and pasted my profile. This is what is considered promo...

Promotion vs. human interest
I wrote a story called "Electric Cars, Superheroes and Pizza" about a pizza restaurant that uses all-electric delivery vehicles, has delivery people dressed up as superheroes, and so on. I even interviewed the owner. It was sent back because "we don't publish promotional content."...

Hot topics for usage
I am still a newbie here, and I have received a few offers for usage, which I accepted. I am wondering if some topics work better as usage articles than others. If I am confident that an article in a certain category is likely to sell for a number of usage licenses, I may want to price it attractive...

Re: What is your CC "Eureka" moment?
Thanks a lot, Celeste. Maybe this is my Eureka moment: I can communicate with other writers. I appreciate all that you've done.

Re: What is your CC "Eureka" moment?
Thank you for you kind reply, Antonia. My accepted articles are small, although I've written a bunch that I haven't even been able to submit. (6 in the hopper rule until you get 10 accepted.) I don't want to hijack this discussion with a complete segue. What I was concerned about was as the years we...

Re: What is your CC "Eureka" moment?
This thread can be a little dispiriting. I have been publishing for over 20 years, and I recently started doing this because I am out of a job. Granted, I am only in my second week, but reading about these people who several years ago had such quick responses to their joining up makes me think the m...

Still Confused About Requests
What is the rule about contacting the customer about requests he or she made?

Confused about requests
I read a recent public request asking for first person narrations. The customer wanted 5. So I dutifully wrote 5. However, I am now getting the sense that she wanted 5 total from a number of different people. Is that how it works? Also, they approved one of my narrations for her a couple days ago an...

warned before suspension
I have had most of my initial drafts rejected for minor grammatical errors. The second drafts have all been accepted. If I am in danger of suspension, will I be given a warning?
