Re: Why so low?

MicheleH, that's a separate debate. I treat freelancing like I would treat a paid job - I charge by the hour or for the effort it takes me. It's then up to the buyer whether or not he wants to pay the asking price. We all price our work according to our own rules - its up to the individual.

Re: Why so low?

I really do feel that you're missing the point that I'm making - I'm not advocating selling articles cheap, I'm saying that I expect to be paid far more for articles that take me a lot of time and effort to write than I do for articles I can throw together in 20 minutes. Part of being a freelancer i...

Re: STOLEN Content Alert

Hi April, I already checked the other website and they haven't used any of my articles (yet). My articles were on the elsestuff website thats now been taken down...CC emailed me and provided a link to the instructions for filing a DMCA, but that was before the website was taken down. I was just wond...

Re: Creating previews with the important stuff missing?

When I first started writing for CC I used to post only half of the article in the summary/preview, then a few months ago I started posting the whole thing. I can honestly say that it made no difference to the amount of sales I made...people bought my articles whether I posted the full article in th...

Re: STOLEN Content Alert

Do we still need to file a DMCA if the site has already been taken down? I've only just woken up to find the dreaded email from CC saying a bunch of my articles have been stolen...I don't know whether I still need to file the DMCA?

Re: other good sites?

I spent a good twelve months researching and writing for just about every writing site I could find, and I genuinely never found any other good writing site worth writing for :( There's the occassional place that pays well for health and weight related content...but you pretty much have to check you...

Re: Article suddenly unsold - no contact from CC

Hi WG, thanks for replying...I've never had that happen before. I really wish CC would just drop authors a quick note when things like this happen! :?

Article suddenly unsold - no contact from CC

A few days ago I sold an article for full rights...it showed up in my list as sold and the money was credited to my account. Today it is suddenly back in my article pool and the money has been removed from my account, but there is no word from CC on why this has happened. Does anyone know whats goin...

Re: Are editors costing this site business?

Unfortunately I have to agree. I've been writing for CC for a few years on and off and used to love writing here. Earlier this year I decided to put more time and effort into submitting articles to CC because I was selling almost all of my articles straight away, and it was turning into a lucrative ...

Re: article disappeared

You need to write your article and save it on your computer as a word document or other similar file...then you upload the article through the submission procedure. The box on the submission page is where you copy and paste a portion of your article (or all of it if you prefer), but you still need t...

Re: Why so low?

I think you're missing my point, but it's probably best just to agree to disagree :) Personally, I wouldn't sell a "quality" article for less than $49, but I also sell more basic versions of these articles for less. If I can write a 300 word article in 20 minutes, I'm not going to rip clie...

Re: Why so low?

I was just offering an alternative opinion carpenjoyce. I never said anything about using sub-standard articles, but it would be naive to think that all articles on here are of the same quality. If I write a basic list article for beginners on a particular subject (e.g. 10 ways to....blah blah blah)...

Seconded. The only way I know to get to the referral link now is to come to this thread...it's getting annoying

Re: Why so low?

While I agree with a lot of the above, one of CC's strengths is that it caters to a wide variety of budgets. A new website owner with a low budget might need to pick up a load of cheap 'filler' articles to fluff out his website...as his website grows and he is able to increase his budget, he may the...
