Re: Plagiarism rejection for unpublished content
We generally won't comment on the specifics of a plagiarism incident on the public forum in consideration of the writer's privacy, but if you want to have him contact Support we'll be happy to look into it. He did, as soon as he got the email. Unfortunately, support rarely responds, which is why I ...

Re: Plagiarism rejection for unpublished content
I'm confused about where the content originally came from. If your mate bought it from someone for full rights then ended up submitting it here, I guess it was initially posted somewhere online for him to find it and buy it. So my guess is that's why it was flagged at CC - it has already been somew...

Re: Plagiarism rejection for unpublished content
Actually I have always thought that CC was paranoid, stepping back and slapping on a gas mask every time a submission smelled the slightest bit suspect. After reading this I am not surprised any more. You mean so called writers buy cheap content for full rights and try to flog it off as their own? ...

Re: Plagiarism rejection for unpublished content
This is a good question. My little internal blackhat mind thought of buying the cheap, underpriced articles on here and reselling them for higher. Glad I didn't go through with it. Nothing black hat or underhand at all. It's unpublished content he bought (for pretty much the same price, as it happe...

Plagiarism rejection for unpublished content
So here's an intriguing question (for a referred CCer, not me): he just had a rejection for plagiarism, but the article in question has never been published anywhere. He bought full rights to it from someone and decided not to use it himself, so put it on CC to resell it. I've run the content throug...

Re: Suspended, no reason given
He's in a weird non-US time zone, and is telephonophobic, so that's not possible. Personally, if a site has a support email, I expect it to work and always give appalling customer service ratings to any company that fails.LauraGinn wrote:Maybe phoning would be better than emailing?

Re: Another suspension
I think I made an editor angry, unknowingly. And well, "wordiness" was the only thing they could pin on me. And if most of us were charging per word and stuffing articles to get more, I could see it as a problem. I was charging a flat rate for articles, no matter the length. Know the feel...

Re: Suspended, no reason given
Thank you for replying. You're right about the money - I checked and he got paid, he says. Which is as it should be and as expected (CC is not your average scumbag company, after all). Still no response from support at all, which is a bit cack, after a week - but if there's a spate of such things, I...

Suspended, no reason given
One of my referrals just contacted me because his account was suspended. He hasn't had an email explaining why: he just tried to log in and... nothing. The only thing that springs to mind is that he submitted a (long) article on superfoods which had some vague, inaccurate and unhelpful editorial com...

Re: Offer offer offer... and no sales.
With over 20 articles on his list, it would be a very special payday for me if that happened!
Thanks for your responses: at least now I know it's not someone messing around, and that they're actual offers, no matter how many (or few) go through.

Re: Offer offer offer... and no sales.
Yes, they stay on sale regardless of the offer. That's another weird thing: offers never seem to expire, so I have some in my list that are REALLY old. The ones I get from "info" aren't horribly low - there's just an awful lot of them, and they never go anywhere. I think I have about 20 in...

Offer offer offer... and no sales.
Hello folks, I'm just wondering about this weird thing going on at the moment, for which I haven't been able to find an answer by searching the forums. Every day or two, I get 6-8 offers (or more) on content, all from a user called "info". I figured it was probably the CC team going throug...

Re: Run-on obsession?
If you go to the extended writer guidelines and scroll down to "Commas" in the "Grammar" section, you will note that CC refers you to review http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/607/01/ in which it clearly states... Thanks for that. It's understandably hard to retain ALL t...

Re: Run-on obsession?
I went to the store, and I bought dog food. (YES) This looks incredibly ugly to me. I can see the need in complex or long sentences, but I really don't see the point in being pedantic about a rule that isn't a hard-and-fast rule. I mean, if it were an actual run-on sentence, I'd understand... but i...

Re: Run-on obsession?
As I understand it (and after checking with a couple of reliable sites), it's normal to put a comma in if the second part is a complete sentence, yes. But in a short sentence it looks untidy and chops things up too small, so it becomes a style question - you can put it in or leave it out, as far as ...
