Re: Good writing with little errors...
Well, five out of my last six went through on the first try. I am aware of the preferences here on CC but I cannot spend three hours re-proofreading an article eight times. I generally proofread at least twice; I make sure I proofread each paragraph I edit before moving to the next one, then I proof...

Re: Good writing with little errors...
Nah, it's OK. My biggest question is, at what point do the editors get tired of finding minor errors?

Re: No previously published works for usage rights?
Is there any appeal process here? One of my best articles got rejected because I forgot I had a different byline on the site where I published it. It said please don't resubmit. So I replied to the email saying that, basically it was original and asking if it was the byline that tripped the process....

Re: Good writing with little errors...
Sleepydoc, one of the first things that I did here was browse the forums extensively. As for your article, I'd make the revisions as requested, double check, and resubmit. If you are concerned about grammar, CC has a detailed page on the extended guidelines which I found useful.

Good writing with little errors...
I wanted to see what the thoughts of other writers are on this matter; I am a very good writer and have received top honors on the sites I write for. Unfortunately, those sites are ore of the type where you can get away with minor grammar flaws and old habits die hard. Since coming to CC, over half ...

What are our tax responsibilities here?
As writers, what are our tax responsibilities here? I Know we have to pay federal and state income tax. I also know we need to pay self employment taxes. But what about sales taxes? I was reading something about that;do we have to pay state sales taxes as well (if our state requires) on content sold...

Thanks for your replies, they were very helpful. I am glad that my articles prices can be edited; that way if my original price was too high I can adjust it if needed.

Re: How to Sell More Articles
The statistics given, does that mean an average of $20 per accept/$30 per license after CC takes it's cut, or $20/$30 split 65-35?

Can we change our prices
OK guys, this is totally a noob question; I only ask it because I don't have any way of finding the answer to it having just started writing and not having any accepted articles yet (due to just starting.) If I set a price (usage, unique, and full) and the article is accepted, does that price lock i...

Re: Reusing existing published content
Thanks for your response; since most of my good articles were written over two years ago, I expect to have to edit them anyhow. I have been studying the extended guidelines and want to submit stuff that conforms to what is expected here. Writing here is more like what I was doing for Yahoo before I ...

Reusing existing published content
What are the rules here for offering for sale existing content that has been published elsewhere? This assumes that I am the author of said content and I retain rights to republish the content. I also assume it could only be sold here as usage not unique or full rights due to being already published.

After three years, finally starting here
Hi all, I'm David Farrell, and I guess I am officially introducing myself. I signed on here with no official writing experience, days after signing up for Associated Content. At that time, I was a full time landscape laborer looking for alternative ways to make money. After signing here, I for whate...
