Thanks. I didn't realize there was a group project page, but I found the guidelines.
My only other question is about hyperlinks. I think they used to be prohibited. Has that policy changed?
Thanks for the help.

Problem with a rejection for a request
I wrote an article for a request. It was rejected - the editor said that "most of the client's requests required links" and that I had to provide links in the article. However, the request description didn't ask for links at all. The requester provided a link in the description line but di...

info rides again
I've noticed that the buyer named "info" has, about once a month or so for the last several months, gone through my catalog and made price offers on several of my articles at a time. The offers themselves are usually reasonable, but that's not the problem. The problem is info never buys an...

Re: Offer offer offer... and no sales.
Not like it would really be worth it to try to get a contract enforced on a few offers on articles anyway, I guess. That would be incredibly impractical and expensive.
I'm not really angry either, just puzzled as to why info is making all these offers and not acting on any of them.

Re: Offer offer offer... and no sales.
I'm seeing the same business from info. This client has bought articles from me before at reasonable prices, so I believed him to be a serious buyer. But this really isn't very professional, is it? I am now getting multiple offers from the same person, at the same price! It's a bit irritating thinki...

Re: Another suspension
Okay, I'm concerned about this as well. I just submitted my first article in a long time, about 900 words. I wouldn't say it's especially wordy, but I'm afraid these editors might disagree. Also, no adverbs now? At all? That's a great idea if the CC editors are looking for the writing equivalent of ...

About price offers
Hey. I'm returning to submit articles after a long time away - I've been at law school and way too busy to write for myself, but suddenly I've found myself needing extra work. I'm sure a lot of you can relate. Anyway, I just wanted to know how long a client can sit on the decision to accept or rejec...

Re: A problem with pricing for writer pool requests
Fair enough. I didn't know that clients had to enter a range of prices. If I had, it would have saved me a run-in with the editors - they seemed to think I was trying to push the client's price higher on extremely short notice, when I really didn't know what specific price the client wanted to pay. ...

A problem with pricing for writer pool requests
I had a question about a pricing issue I ran into recently. A lot of clients seem to like setting their desired prices at a range - say $20-30 or $50-100 dollars. As a writer trying to sell my work, I'm never really sure how to approach this. I usually just price the article for usage rights at the ...

Re: Write-offs for freelance articles?
Thanks for the warnings. I think I'll just take this trip and not worry about the expense too much - I don't want to face the risks of an audit. I did write off a laptop purchase as a business expense last year and the IRS seemed to accept it as legit, but it was a cheap netbook and I use it almost ...

Write-offs for freelance articles?
I'm hoping to do some traveling this year, and if I do, I'll definitely milk some articles out of the deal. I've written and sold travel articles before - I'd say it's one of my three or four top subjects to write about. Does anyone know if you can write off part of the costs of a trip, airfare, hot...

How to negotiate a price with a client
I received a price offer today. It was too low for me, so I rejected it, but I also wanted to tell the client that I'd be willing to drop the usage rights price provided he kept my byline in. But it seems like there's no way to send any kind of communication to the client unless he starts the conver...

Re: What are you writing about?
With Valentine's Day coming up, I guess I should write some romance/dating articles. It's not really a subject I'm interested in, but it's all about writing to the audience, right? Then again, I still have some sitting in my catalog, so maybe I don't need to bother. Right now, I'm writing a few trav...

Political articles that don't take sides
I know editorializing isn't allowed here. But is it all right to write about current political issues in an objective, "here are the facts and why they're important" way? I'm writing a few articles on legal issues, and one of them involves a lot of federal politics.

About the article's preview page
One of the articles I'm writing is based entirely on my own experience living and working in a foreign country. I'd like to indicate that fact in my article's summary when I submit it, but I'm not sure whether that would break the "no first-person" rule. Can I use a term like "based o...
