Re: Best way to learn Russian request
Don't write it in 1st person. Take your own experience and write as if you were giving yourself instructions - even about the learning being subjective. Or use 3rd person. 2nd may be easier though. As an example, if you feel like writing " I found the more I interacted..." change the I to ...

Re: How Do I Delete Attachments?
I did the same thing when I first joined Just upload the new file and don't worry about the reattached ones. If you are really concerned, send a message to support to let them know. I am sure it will all be fine - don't panic.

Re: Accessing your submitted articles
I can relate to that feeling of losing all your files Have you tried sending a message to support? The only other option, apart from Word Gypsy's suggestion, would be to download the summary and try to recreate your article from there.

uploading profile photo question
I have hunted everywhere, not in the right place apparently, and cannot find a guide to what requirements are needed to upload a profile pic. I have a personal aversion to cameras so I am trying to use an oldish pic, in small avatar form, from another site I belonged to. It is still in JPG, which is...

Re: Is anybody out there?
Hi Eric. Welcome to CC. It does seem very quiet doesn't it. Personally, as a fellow newbie, I spend far too much time reading through these forums when I should be working. Procrastination and I are well acquainted friends. :D I hope you are enjoying CC and I look forward to seeing you round the for...

Re: contacting request submitters
Hi there. I am pretty new here myself but would agree with tomkin. I don't think you are able to personally contact the customer until you have had 5 articles accepted here so you may have to do the first few "blind". I would suggest leaving the personal article until you can contact the b...

changing title
Hi all. I went to submit an article and got the 'title already registered' message. I have changed the title in both the title field and in the document I sent. When I look My Content, however, the article under review is still showing with the first title I used. Is this something I should worry ab...

chef, chef's chefs
Sorry to be a pain - this is bugging me. We talk about a carving knife, bread knife etc but is it chef knife, chef's knife, chefs knife (cook, cook's, cooks) ? Does it even matter? I have seen it used all ways. What is your preference?

Re: My article has been stolen
I really feel for you iam. It would be nice if some techie could come up with a solution. Even if you only put parts of paragraphs up someone could steal those and just fill in the gaps. Your work would still show up as plagiarized I think. I wonder if coming up with some sort of code that only regi...

Re: commas
Hehe - they drive me crazy too. I think (but I could be wrong) that you do need a comma before the 'and' in that sentence. It has two main clauses joined with a coordinating conjunction. I find them extremely tricky when they are short or contain lots of pronouns. I have had to really brush up on my...

Thanks again. Just replying in case anyone else comes up with something similar. The 3'x3'x3' came through review without comment.

Re: 3x3 help please
Thank you both for your answers. Mnicol, What you said makes complete sense - why didn't I think of it? I went ahead and submitted with 3'x3'x3' as it just looked tidier. It is still in review so I may edit it - or just leave it. Thanks again for your replies.

Re: 3x3 help please
Sorry, me again. I think rather than cubic I will go with " both back and sides should be ..." but again, should I use words or digits? If it should be words feet? or foot? I have seen it expressed both ways.
