Re: Hi! It's been awhile. I need help with quotation titles.
They're disheartening, I know, but I get your drift. Have the editors tightened things up? I seem to remember rejections for quirky little things that made it through in other articles. (Things I was unaware of, or I would have done it correctly every time.) By the way, my concern with a 4th possibl...

Re: Hi! It's been awhile. I need help with quotation titles.
I think I've figured out the problem. I now believe it was not capitalization of the title. Rather, it was the NON capitalization of sentences quoted. I don't know why I didn't spot this earlier, but I believe these are the offending parts of the quote: “Time out won’t work if it is overused... blah...

The editors perused and answered our questions more often. Some are a bit technical, and it can be hard to find information on them. At other times, the reason for a rejection can be ambiguous. Peer support is awesome, and I appreciate it, but there are times when concrete answers to some of our mor...

Re: Hi! It's been awhile. I need help with quotation titles.
I may have botched that question. To clarify, these aren't the titles I'm using for my articles. They're titles of journals, or whatever publication I happen to be quoting IN my article. The most problematic is this one. My article reads: "...published in 2007, titled, 'Time Out and Other Disci...

Hi! It's been awhile. I need help with quotation titles.
Please help! I've finally found the courage and time to write again. My articles have fetched between 40 and 85 bucks (averaging 50ish), so I seem to have done okay in the past. The new system has me a bit perplexed, but I'll muddle through it. Here's where I really need help: quotation marks and ca...

Re: What happened to the 'download' button?
I don't know why I thought it was available on some, and not on others. Strange. Perhaps it's that one brain cell... the one that blinks on and off.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

What happened to the 'download' button?
I wanted to change the amount of text in the long preview. I've done this before, and used the 'download' button under the 'my content' page to download the file, copy, and paste it back. But... on some of my articles, it's gone. Why does it appear on some articles, and not on others? Is this a glit...

SJH, that has to be one of the most helpful posts I've read on this forum. It helps explain why I may have had some luck in one area, and not in another. Thank you... again.

Re: Promoting unsold articles?
I have no problem sharing my "marketing strategies" with fellow freelance writers. Even though technically you guys are my competition, but still, we have to stick together and help each other out... IMO, it's smart to help others. The internet's changed everything, and the concept of com...

Re: water damage restoration & wheat allergies
Well, I tried writing on both water damage restoration and on wheat allergy symptoms...The others only have a few hits each, meaning that people probably aren't very interested in them. I suspect that they may be looking for a more expert voice. On the other hand, I've had a lot of success with othe...

Re: Erroneous information in sold article
...In my humble opinion, we all write from our own point of view and experience... Yep. And, we are trying to convey a certain perspective that can just get lost by adding every qualified opinion, or every study that produces contrary info. Might be a good idea to say something like "While not...

SJHillman... That makes sense, thank you. You always offer great insight. Kaytee! Great idea! I'm thinking I can knock 3 pieces out on that in no time. Can I borrow that title? I'll add it after "Wheat Allergies: How Your Water-Damaged Property Causes Them" and "Water damage? Fix It W...

water damage restoration & wheat allergies
Why is nobody writing about these topics? I see them being searched for constantly, what am I missing? One more question while I'm at it: Why is the forum so quiet? I really appreciate those who have teaken the time to answer my questions, but it just seems very, very quiet.
