Re: Yikes. Rejected, and a lesson learned. Maybe.

Humor is tricky, because as you pointed out, it's so personal. It's why I try to stick to factual / how to style content - I find CC editors tend to prefer an objective approach, unless you have a private request where the client specifically requests something different. Good luck with your next su...

Improvements to request / messaging / notifications system

Hi folks, I wondered if any of you had feedback from customers regarding the messaging system or using the CC platform? I've completed a couple of private requests recently, for clients new to the platform. Both of them found the request and messaging systems tricky. I think it mainly comes down to ...

I use the free function as a plugin on Chrome - I find the free version gives me everything I need.

Re: Grammarly, ProWritingAid and Hemingway

I like Hemingway - Because I tend to write "how to" and informative articles, the more direct approach of Hemingway forces me to shorten my sentences and use clearer language. In other words, it complements and improves on my natural writing style. As far as I know, there are no issues wit...

Re: Twiddling my thumbs

I can't say that I understood your caution against using "that." Can you explain? It's something that my writing sometimes gets a "review" rather than an "accepted" for. I have noticed since I reduced my use of it, my articles tend to get accepted more. It's often an u...

Re: Twiddling my thumbs

Hello, all -- I submitted my first article four days ago and I'm planning on submitting two more tomorrow (that being Monday, 1/18). I have this strange worry, though, that nothing at all is happening. Is four days common for an article to sit unviewed by anybody but me? Is there a way to see if my...

Re: Writing Topics

Hi weirdlittlekc, and welcome to CC - It's a good place to be. It's interesting that you should ask what to write about, as back in 2014 I did a fairly extensive analysis of what was selling over a 30 day period, and write it up on the forums. Here are some links to the work, which will hopefully pr...

Re: Using sold articles as writing samples?

I thnk it also depends on the rights the article was purchased under. If the article is sold as full rights, that means the customer owns full copyright and can claim it as their own. Obviously, posting a public link to those articles is a no-no. If an article is sold as usage rights, I believe you ...

A plea to CC editors

I appreciate that the editors at CC have a difficult job and deal with many different styles, approaches and topics on a daily basis. I also appreciate that there are often good reasons to request an article is reviewed or rejected. However, I have noticed that certain editors are returning items fo...

Re: Can we apply with LOL

A reasonable price for proofreading a page of around 300 words, from a professional, qualified proofreader, would be about $5 - $7.

Re: Green font color on new site

Hey Paul. We've updated the advanced search so that the license types are selectable, and none are set as the default. The defaults set for the other fields are examples, and aren't actually doing anything to filter searches unless a user enters another value. Excellent, thanks for taking care of t...

Re: Green font color on new site

Eric - There's also an issue with bugs in search on the new site (I did cover this in another thread, plus I sent a couple of emails to CC without a reply; I am reposting here in the hope this will have a response.) Advanced search has some bugs in it, specifically: - It defaults to "Full right...

Re: I JUST SOLD A $160-ARTICLE :D

Sad days :( I've started following the "sell more articles guide" and have been writing like 250-word articles and putting them up for like $30. I don't have the strength to write a long one again lol. I kinda got used to these $30 ones. I have like 30 articles up for review. I've been tr...

Bugs with "Search" on new website

Hi there, just wanted to make you aware of some bugs on the new site. Advanced search has some bugs in it, specifically: - It defaults to "Full rights" only, meaning that unless searchers know to search for usage rights, usage articles won't show in search; even then... - Once a license ty...
