Q about bylines

Is there an 'official suggestion' regarding authoer's bylines? As in, where should it go, how long should it be, what kind of things should it contain?

If there is no formal stance, what do some of you other authors do?

Greetings to you all!

I am, obviously, brand-spanking new here. ;) I just signed up tonight. I must say, I am extremely excited to be here! I've been trying to look into freelance writing for a while, but most places I have found are bid-for-jobs listings, where the lowest bidder wins, and I find that somewhat demeaning ...

When I clicked on that link (and every other 'sample price list' links I found scattered through the site), all it did was take me to the homepage. Is the page gone, or is there something with my links to it? I'd really like to know what a 'good' range of prices are by CC standards.
