Re: Conclusions

It's a standard content mill tactic. Keep writers down and hungry so they feel obligated to take those lower paid pool orders for the "chance to move up."

Re: Conclusions

Yeah, the conclusions on list style articles seems weird to me too, but I just wrap it up in 2-3 sentences. You have to use a conclusion on all articles. This is a made up fantasy by a single editor and not part of the guidelines. I have a format that sells well here and elsewhere. They pass throug...

Re: A plea to CC editors

Then you have the psycho editor making up requirements that aren't in the guidelines and aren't used by other editors. Make sure your article doesn't get reviewed on Friday night if it doesn't have a conclusion.

40 percent of people abandon a website

that takes more than three seconds to load.

These slow servers are costing sales and harming the site's credibility.

Re: Will I lose full license if....

Thank you! I have gone back and priced my articles higher according to word count, and have made Unique and Full Rights the same price, with Usage rights half that amount. I sold all of my articles back in 2005 when I joined, but I think the competition is higher now that I've returned! But hopeful...

Re: Stolen Articles

Hey everyone! A client of mine just let me know that an article he purchased had long ago been scraped and posted here: http://www.hayward-dispensary.com/need-know-medical-marijuana-edibles/ I've contacted CC and the site, and I'm just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions. I know that Goog...

Re: Review Times Seem Slow

yeah, I had to mess with it a bit. I sat there for 2 weeks wondering what was up with my resubmission. Whoops. I think I finally unchecked "unique" to get it to go through. I take my last post back. You don't have to mess with 0. You do need to uncheck "unique". If you did $10 u...

Re: Review Times Seem Slow

So, I just realized that the article that I had resubmitted after a revision didn't resubmit. So, I tried again. No dice. It took a couple weeks for it to get reviewed in the first place, so maybe these issues are causing a backlog for review. I had that happen to me and finally I contacted support...

Re: Do Author Bylines on Usage Only Articles Help/Hurt Sales

Think of it from a buyer's POV: Does the byline add value to them? Unless someone here that I haven't noticed is a widely renowned expert in the field, no. So no one is buying an article BECAUSE of a byline on it. Are there at least some buyers who won't want to put up someone else's byline? Almost ...

Re: Anyone doing these G/O Digital Requests?

$25*.65/500=.0325 (originally $20*.65/500=.026)

For a rush request with a huge list of requirements up to CC's quality standards? Sorry, but that's a lower bid than Textbroken drivel and also less than people are receiving on spec articles here even when accounting for not selling 100%.

Re: Usage paid for 0.00???

I wrote to support as well, but I'm not sure they'll get to me any time soon. This is my problem. An article sold twice in the last week, both times for Usage. The first time, it went through alright, the second time (a couple of days later) it said that my usage fee is 0.00 so I got 0.00. Erhm. Wh...

Re: Are Conclusions Always Necessary?

I never do a conclusion, and I think it's not helpful to the client on a spec piece. Why? Because you don't know exactly what conclusion they want the reader to draw. Is it a call to action to read more of their blog, contact them about a product or service, feel enabled to to it themselves, or just...

Re: fairly priced spec vs. underpriced team: which is better

I don't like to comment on what people should or shouldn't sell their work for. It's personal. I don't mind saying that, for myself, I tend not to go below the $20 sale price--but it depends. There might be a bulk job--product descriptions or something that I might tackle on a rainy weekend. Of cou...

Re: November Pay?

Hi MKatz. It's Nov 17, so I'm watching if my payout goes through this time. CC normally pays on time. In my case, it's the 2nd and the 16th of every month, and I've been writing for this site for years. Hmm, could be PayPal-related perhaps? I'll post when my payout gets credited to my PayPal accoun...
