Re: Usage Rights: Google "Gotcha" for Internet buyers?

 I'm sure you're right! Thanks again, Lysis, for putting things in perspective. Now, of course, I've gotta go see this "snarky" side of you in action... You? Banned, potentially? It's hard to think of, but then I suppose I'm 'not as bright as your average bear'. ROTFL!

Re: Usage Rights: Google "Gotcha" for Internet buyers?

Lysis-- Correct, they're talking about deceptive as well as practical (print/online) duplication of work. However, if Google doesn't index or choose to display a page that our "usage rights" customer was expecting would be indexed, shouldn't they know about that? I know from personal exper...

Re: Usage Rights: Google "Gotcha" for Internet buyers?

Okay, I did some further digging, and came up with Google's own words describing how it handles duplicate content: From: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/66359?hl=en "However, in some cases, content is deliberately duplicated across domains in an attempt to manipulate search engine ...

Usage Rights: Google "Gotcha" for Internet buyers?

Okay, here's a scenario and questions for you. (Sorry, possibly a big can of worms here--I hope somebody can prove me wrong!) Caveat: I've never logged in as a buyer, so I'm not sure what CC is currently telling buyers about Internet usage of articles they buy. Maybe they already say that users who ...

Re: About spacing paragraphs and featured articles.

Hi. I'm new here! There's something in the instructions that I don't quite understand. It says paragraphs should be single spaced in 12 Times New Roman or Arial, and double spaced between paragraphs. Does that mean I hit the return key twice when starting a new paragraph? Or do I adjust the line he...

Re: Do reviews sell well?

Lysis, you're right. They really need to subtract views from other writers from the actual customer views, in my opinion. Or, include a column for each type of data, rather than lumping them together which tells the author almost nothing about the traction their article could be getting/not getting ...

Re: Submission Counter

Valuable insight, Judith and Lysis! I shall take it to heart and, essentially, "mind my own business". :D The first article I wrote was for a specific request, and I put a lot of editing into it, so I'm sorry to see it not sell to that or any other customer. I can understand why it didn't ...

Editors' Busy-ness Meter

Would it be helpful to anyone else to know just how busy the editors are at a given time? For example, today is a holiday in the U.S., but Saturday was a day off and one of my articles was still approved on Saturday, to my surprise. I'd find it helpful to know just how many editors are working at a ...

Re: Submission Counter

I agree--an indicator of how many submissions have already been approved and how many (if any) the client purchased would be helpful to save me wasting time. Like SJHillman and kuttingXedge expressed, some indicator would be helpful as I don't want to compete with all of you, my fellow elite writers...

Re: List newest/newest reply posts first in Writers Form

AHA! Lysis and BHuff85, you've gotten me to the solution! I went into my user control panel, selected the Board Preferences tab, and changed the defaults from Ascending to Descending. Now everything new is showing at the top again (not counting the "stickies" which I now understand). Thank...

Re: List newest/newest reply posts first in Writers ForUM

Sorry, but I don't understand your answer Lysis. I'm not sure what "stickies" are, and I don't know PHP code. And, you may be answering a totally different question since I see I didn't spell "FORUM" correctly on my initial topic--I left out the critical "U". Duh-me. :o...

List newest/newest reply posts first in Writers Form

It would be super helpful if the posts listed in the writers/authors forum were listed in reverse chronological order -- so the newest posts and posts with new activity appear at the top of the list rather than the bottom. If this isn't hard, I think you'd get a lot more folks' questions answered on...

Multiple Categories for Content?

Some of my content fits equally well under several different categories. Is there any chance that this additional option would be available in the future? :?: I just want to be sure that buyers find my work... And some don't use the keyword search method but the browse method, I'm sure. Also, it wou...
