Re: Resubmission

Thank you so much, Evaku. I have deleted it now, so I may try just submitting it again. However, I will be very careful to carry out your suggestions in future.

Resubmission

My article "Five Businesses Founded During Recessions" was reviewed because "no changes were made." I will check again, but I did make the changes. Perhaps, I sent the wrong file.

Has anyone else had this problem? I think that it is just easy to get confused with submitting files.

Re: Run-on obsession?

Hello Topquark,

I've also received rejections for articles submitted for Private Requests! It's extremely discouraging, because I really don't want to have
to resubmit articles for customers too many times!

My acceptance rate has gone up and down a lot over the years.

Re: CC seems to be changing its editing standards

Thank you so much, Word Gypsy.

I read my article again, and I think that I can see why it was criticised so severely. I will be much more careful next time!
Also, I think that I find the 'energy' topic difficult, so I probably won't write any more articles about it.

Re: CC seems to be changing its editing standards

Hello Sarita,

I am getting into trouble for this as well, and I am disappointed because I thought that I worked hard on the last article, and that it was quite clear.

I am going to give up for a while, and wait until I get a Private Request.

I just looked at the article again, and I didn't make one requested change. I am sorry.

Resubmitted article

I am upset because I resubmitted an article, and the editor sent it back because it had "no changes." I am sure that I removed the comma that the editor complained about, and made a few other little changes. I've sent in this file quite a few times with changes, so this is really annoying....

Re: Oxford Comma

Thank you very much for the thumbs-up, Abba May! I sometimes have a spate of rejections and it's a worry. However, other writers also have this problem, I've been told. The article was about women who marry themselves. Apparently, more and more women are tiring of waiting for Mr. Right, so they marr...

Re: What other sites do you sell your articles on?

Has anyone tried Wizzley? I have published a few articles there, but I haven't received any money yet!

Re: Oxford Comma

Hello Abbamay, Thank you very much. I am reading the guidelines carefully, but I am a bit upset because I just got used to the 'Oxford Comma', and now I'm probably using too many commas! The editor thought that the comma was unnecessary here. I am a bit too scared to resubmit it, because it has been...

Oxford Comma

I never used to use the Oxford Comma, and now I am struggling with it. The Editor is upset with this sentence: ""She also goes on dates with herself, and she ends these nights with bubble baths. " I never used to put commas after the "and" in a sentence with two independent ...

Re: Complaint from Private Client

Thank you so much. That's excellent advice.

I will ask a friend to read the last articles, and see what he or she thinks.

Best Regards,
Lisa

Complaint from Private Client

I was extremely upset this morning, because I received an email from a Private Client. The client complained that my last two articles 'didn't read well', and that she was 'disappointed'. I have asked her for more details. However, I was surprised, because I have been writing for this client for yea...
