Hmmm, I think that we use this in reference to a previous subject so we don't have the redundancy of a repeated subject., but if you're referring to a subject with a pronoun is it clear enough for the reader to know for sure what you're talking about? I think maybe That is the real issue if it is no...

I'm a noob to this site, with two articles submitted and only one accepted, but I can tell you that it is not proper to use this or that in reference to a previous sentence: that is what a colon is for.

I'm so excited. I'm also Paul. So, I have been disabled for all 25 years of my life, and have been looking for a way to contribute to society in some way. Previously, I have volunteered at soup kitchens, and eaten at them, but now I have an article accepted. I hear that it's no easy task to get past...
