Re: How did I miss 90 new articles in one hour?
I find it funnier to be online about two hours before the deadline time is up on all those big requests.... they all suddenly appear as writers flake out and dump them back into the queue. I'm often asleep when those orders are originally issued, so I never get the chance to grab them (Australian t...

How did I miss 90 new articles in one hour?
One day I received notice that I was added to a bunch of new writers' pools, which is rather exciting :D - but the next day I was offline for a few hours and managed to miss out on 90 new assignments! watch my excitement deflate... :( these pools must work with huge numbers of writers! or a few writ...

Re: Twiddling my thumbs
You got hit for second person? Really? ::blink:: That's all I use. Third person is too formal for web content. I've seen some people say they've gotten away with first person. I got a kickback when I tried to use it. OK Lysis- were you blinking, or winking at me? :-) Not only did I get hit for usin...

Re: Twiddling my thumbs
Paul, thanks for that *very* useful response. Much appreciated. My first submission, for what it's worth, was written in second person, which I understand is allowable and, in the case of my article, useful. I can't say that I understood your caution against using "that." Can you explain?...

Re: Using sold articles as writing samples?
I can't see what damage would be done by showing work privately. You aren't claiming you have legal rights to the article or anything like that, just proving your writing abilities… Which of course do exist, even if the article isn't legally yours. But maybe I'm overlooking or unaware of something…...

Re: Using sold articles as writing samples?
yeah, I've been using that line with CC customers who ask for samples too! But now I was wondering about showing some of my CC work to some outside clients... if I'm just showing them my text as a "writing sample", with a formal agreement that they can't use it for anything, do you think t...

Using sold articles as writing samples?
Do you ever show articles that were sold on CC, when a client asks to view some writing samples from previous work? Is there a problem with doing this? Have no fear- I'm not talking about re-selling articles that were sold with rights (which is an obvious no-no), but just exhibiting them for view. W...

Re: How can a writer upgrade Access Level?
thanks to clarify - I may not have phrased that correctly - I've had requests to edit typos and the like, but no "rejections"... I didn't mean that I've never been asked to make a change! Gosh, I can't imagine anyone never gets nabbed by an editor here :-) I wish I knew what the criteria t...

How can a writer upgrade Access Level?
I've had only an Access Level 3 since my acceptance as a CC writer. Since then, I've never had an article rejected - and I've sold 75% of my submissions. I'm a member of a few Pools, and I've received some Private Requests. What else am I supposed to be doing in order to upgrade my Access Level? I c...

Re: Confused Customer- how do I answer her?
To update all of you (after I started such a lively thread! who woulda known?) - my client purchased the article that had been a Private Request, and then sent me a letter saying that she will not buy in the future if she can't see 100%! I feel kinda silly, I had no clue that those settings affected...

Re: Confused Customer- how do I answer her?
yeah, I think she needs help in using the platform I've never received any emails from an editor or account manager... I hope some CC customer support person (or anyone good-hearted, informed member) happens to read this post, and provides that customer with some assistance. Or tells me what to tell...

Confused Customer- how do I answer her?
I was issued a Private Request, I submitted on time and the CC editors approved it and sent it on to the customer. But the customer sent me a letter asking for help! (I don't know why she isn't addressing the CC customer support, or perhaps they're not answering her...) Does anyone know what to answ...

Re: Question about Public Pool Requests
Thank you! Now I'm keeping "My Projects" page open, so I can see them come in (hopefully!). But I still think someone out there has an app I don't know about, which intercepts projects en route. This forum is great- as I've never once received a response back from the Customer Support here...

Re: Question about Public Pool Requests
I hear you- but I've been working at my computer and clicking on the requests within 1-2 seconds (no exaggeration), and they're already gone! Someone must have an amazing app that allows them to grab before the rest of the world ever sees it!

Question about Public Pool Requests
I keep receiving tons of email alerts about new Public Pool Requests. Yet when I click on them, often within seconds of receiving the alert, I am always brought to a CC page with no Requested Content. And none of these PP Requests are showing up on any of my pages, not on Req Content nor on My Proje...
