Re: Sold Another Article After so Many Years. .
Ooft, I don't think I could do four articles a day! I'm at 35% as well. I keep hoping that 70% I read about when I signed on will magically happen

Re: Sold Another Article After so Many Years. .
I think that's what happened to me! I posted 5 articles years ago and then just left them, since it all sounded too easy. Sold one or two of them for decent money a year or two later and was sold on actually making an effort with CC. Go for it!

Re: Help! Revision request
This is why I didn't even consider working on revisions and why I wouldn't have written his articles in this instance. It's the holiday season, I'm away from today and I've no mental space to deal with it any further.Gauderbock wrote:Life's too short

Re: Help! Revision request
I didn't see any place to counter free with paid so I just rejected. You're right, HG, I could have approached it by offering to write the article he wanted while he returned the other ones to the catalog. I didn't think of that but next time this happens, I might lead with this.

Re: Help! Revision request
Apparently custom articles get two free revisions, which my customer thought he was entitled to, despite him buying from the catalog. He's now raging that he's wasted money on articles that are useless to him without the revisions.

Re: Is article age factored into CC's internal search engine
Interesting question! I'm not sure the answer though. I'll have a look through my catalog and see if there's anything noticeable with selling trends for holidays!

Help! Revision request
Hi everyone, I sold a couple of articles a week ago from the main catalog and thought nothing more about it. Today, they're requesting revisions! For free. And it's not a small revision either. It's a change from aimed at adults to aimed at teens. WTF. I don't understand why they even bought the art...

Re: Short summary?
Thanks, HiredGun, effusive isn't something I usually suffer from so I haven't had to worry about that. I've not had a rejection from a summary yet. I have seen people use target audience labels in their summaries, as well as the format 'This 534 word article will help you...' but I haven't tried eit...

Short summary?
What does everyone use the short summary portion of the submission form for? Do you actually write a short summary or do you use it to 'sell' your article? Has anyone noticed one or the other approach affecting their sales?

Re: Change in CC Clients
I've been pretty surprised by how low the prices are for articles that are selling. The writer's cut for some of them aren't worth the time it takes to submit an article, never mind write it!

I also can't access the full article from my one pre-2013 post! How strange. I can for 2014 though.

Re: Purged article...
I haven't heard of that as a reason before! Surely someone would want to buy something that was 'promotional'. Articles are often used to sell. But I would just make it more generic and resubmit.

Re: Wordiness
I also sometimes just resubmit and hope to get a new editor (I've never had one bounced back for this). Wordiness seems a strange one to pull you up on, especially with no mention of where it is or what they mean.

Re: Seasonal?
I have relatively few articles remaining in my catalog (I think 20 or so?) that are all ancient and some years old now, but my total sales overall are comfortably in the 4 figures. Are you mainly doing private orders and writer pools on CC then? I can't say I've had much luck with writer pools on h...

Re: Editing Issue
I've never had a problem with lists before. I think you may have just gotten an editor on a bad day, or one who doesn't like lists  but I haven't had any success arguing with them over something like that, so I would have just done what you did. Sometimes you get ones who have specific 'stylist...
