Re: resubmissions

It's been a while since I've done this, but my memory of it is that you have to save the changes you've made, and then somewhere down at the bottom, beyond the upload files button (which I've never understood the purpose of either) there's another button to resubmit or resend or whatever. Sorry, I k...

Re: Should I Quit?

I understand your frustration. I tell people I'm a writer but I've made more money in the last few months by doing data inputting for a friend a couple of hours a week than I have from writing. On the other hand, this week I sold an article that I wrote over two years ago and which I assumed was a l...

Re: Name and Photo Stolen- Are YOU on this list?

Yes, I am on this list, though with a changed surname. They more or less lifted my bio word-for-word as well. I honestly haven't got the energy to do lots of chasing in order to get this addressed, but if you manage to find a helpful contact name or address please let us know. Sorry if that sounds l...

Re: What the heck is going on?

The "amount due for this month" isn't displaying accurately. I was paid out on Monday but that hasn't been reflected in what's listed on my CC account. I checked the bank yesterday and the money had appeared (hooray!) but yeah the CC page hasn't updated accordingly. Even worse, I sold an ...

Re: What the heck is going on?

I'm in the UK too (hi to my fellow British CC writers) and last Fri (31st July) got the email asking for bank details. I have the same reservations about sending that information in an email, but in all honesty I need the money sooner rather than later. 1st August I got an acknowledgement email from...

Re: I can only submit full-rights content?

Yes, that's it. Each article will only sell once, so make sure you ask a high enough price to make it worth the time you spend writing!

Re: I can only submit full-rights content?

Other pricing options have been phased out, so the only one available for new articles now is Full Price. You might see articles listed for sale for other rights, but that's because they were written before the changes.

Re: No responses from support or pay?

I've not heard anything from Support regarding an article that's been "waiting" for weeks - normally I at least get an acknowledgement within 24 hours.

At least I got paid though - not getting the money that's due to you really sucks.

Let us know if you manage to get this resolved

Re: Article has been "Waiting" for a Week

Sometimes an article is in "waiting" while payment is being processed, but that shouldn't take more than a week. If it's longer than that, the chances are a client put it in their basket but didn't complete the purchase. Contact Support and they'll sort it out for you.

Re: Confused About First Submission/Long Summary Section

Just paste (or write) the article in the content editor. You need to write the short summary yourself but CC automatically creates the long summary.

Re: Numbered paragraphs

I had a response back: this is it in full: Editing is subjective and the editor thought it was warranted in this situation. Usually writers place a subhead before each point, as six points is a lot without subheads or numbering. Web readability does depend upon scanability. We don't require points t...

Re: Sold Another Article After so Many Years. .

At the other extreme, I had an email notification this morning that an article I'd written for the catalogue (not for a request) had been accepted, and then 67 minutes later got another email saying that it had sold :D :D

That's definitely a record for me!

Numbered paragraphs

I've just had an article rejected because the title began "6 Signs that.." but the paragraphs weren't numbered. I put numbers in front of each paragraph and resubmitted it, but I did put a note to the editor to say that I've had loads of "X things you should know" articles accept...

Re: Account showing negative balance

There was an email sent out to all writers to let them know that we were addressing it. I had the same issue and assumed it was a glitch; I was going to email support today but then saw it had been resolved. However despite "all writers" being sent an email I didn't get one. On my email p...
