Hello from Indiana

Post by teacup »

Hi, I'm a brand new author from the State of Indiana. I just submitted my first three articles this morning. One is for sale already and two are still under review.

Does anyone know how long it takes to make a decision to sell? Also, how long did it take some of you to actually sell your articles?

I know it takes time, but I'm new, so I'll really excited about this new venture. Nice to be among you! :D

Welcome to the site.

To answer your questions: For a requestor to make a decision on buying an article, it all depends on how quickly they want it. Sometimes we write articles and nothing gets purchased and then, all of a sudden, somebody else will come along and purchase your article.

I just became a member of the site in October. It took about a week or more to sell my first article and then I figured it out. At first, concentrate on the requested material. Get the requested content written first. Once you do this, you can then add other articles you've written.

What seems to be selling lately are home improvement, gardening, vitamins, minerals, and supplements, and parenting. Just a few weeks ago movie reviews were quite hot.

Anyway, I hope that helped. Of course, I'm still relatively new myself.

Good luck with your writing and sell a whole bunch!!!

Welcome to CC! Like Penny said, look over the requests first and try to write for those, but also pay close attention to the Recently Sold Content page. At first, I only wrote for requests, but in the past couple of months, I've actually been selling more articles that weren't even requested. It's hard to judge what will sell and when. I've had requested articles never get bought and then purchased several months later, and then there have been times when my articles (both requested and not) get snatched up within five minutes of being approved. So you never know. The best thing to do is keep writing, and you will always have sales coming in. Again, welcome to CC and good luck!
