Newbie Says Hi!
Hi! I'm a new writer here as well. My name is Aundra and I currently live in Texas, but grew up in Arkansas and claim it as home. After checking out your site multiple times, I finally mustered my nerve and submitted my first article. Received my first rejection this morning, so I guess I'm "officially a writer." I'm reworking it to submit again. Here's to determination and community!!

I too am originally from Arkansas, and still call it home. I'm stuck north of the Mason Dixon right now, so I have to make iced tea myself. Not to mention biscuits, gravy, fried anything, and a plethora of other dishes. People look at me weirdly when I mention eating squirrel, opossum, rattlesnake, and turtle.
You'll get hammered like I do for using "ya'll" in a sentence, but you live and learn. Keep submitting, and you'll do fine.
