hello and thank you!

Post by edoran »

hi,

my name is erin and i just wanted to say hello. i've been lurking around for a week or two and thought it was time to post here :) i just wanted to thank everyone who is involved with the site - i don't come from a writing background. i studied art in college and all of my knowledge of 'breaking in' to industries is surrounded around the art community. it's so nice to have a place like this because, although i love to write, i know nothing about contacting publishers or writing cover letters or anything. thanks so much for giving this opportunity to people like me! it's totally worth 35% :)

have a wonderful day!

Hi Erin,

Welcome to CC! I am like you - I used to be a journalist but all the writing went to the same newspaper, so I didn't have to deal with "selling" my articles. Now I can focus on writing and not have to worry about any of that. It's definitely worth the 35% in the time I save in marketing!

It's fun to log in and see a sale on your account. Some articles sell straight away, others will sit on the site for a few months, but I'm not complaining. I've had a pretty good "hit" rate here and am loving making money through CC. I also love the friends I have made through the forums and the site. My advice to all newcomers is to focus on building up a good portfolio of different articles - you just never know what is going to sell!

Nice to have you here, wishing you success.

Kind regards,

Hayley

Welcome, Erin. Where are you from? Your name is the same as my granddaughter's, but we spell that with a Y.
