Hi everybody!

Post by canywriter »

Hi folks
I'm essentially a copywriter who is now turning my hand to writing on a whole lot of topics that interest me - travel, adventure, nature, english grammar and spelling... and anything else that takes my fancy - and having a ball just writing! Hope to make some money here though - i'm impressed with the site and how it functions. Hope to make a couple of friends here too...
Have just got my first article approved, and just uploaded my second. Let's see how things go!

It's a bit addictive, though...

Welcome...

My wife also has to copyedit a lot. She's been an editor for over 20 years, but she has to edit corporate stuff and all that other boring crap associated with it. Keep writing though. She has over 50 completed novels, about 30 in the works, and I don't know how many novellas.

Jusr roll with whatever type of writing you want. You're right though - this site is quite addictive. Once a few sales have come through while you were asleep, you'll be hooked.

My best advice is to write about anything and everything you're interested in. Get a good base of articles up on several subjects. Just don't hurry them. I'm still not fully awake so forgive me if I tend to ramble on. Basically, you want a large sampling of your works up for customers to see. The more subjects and topics you cover will help attract different customers.

What kind of copy do you have to edit?

Hi Barry

I guess the terminology is a bit different hearabouts - I'm an advertising copywriter - conceptualise and write advertising campaigns - essentially for corporates, but also sometimes for social bodies. Tough as a lot of client money rides on what you write, but also challenging and interesting, as I work with a variety of clients. Personally, I love writing about traveling, adventure ( we're into a lot of that as a family, and as another part of my work), nature, and yes, english ( spelling and stuff, as a lit grad).

I read in the forums about how you wrote a piece full of cliches:-), and satire.

Cheers

I love cliches, and it ticks me off to no end to get a bad review because something is deemed to be "too cliche-like" in its delivery. In one case it was unintentional, but the line was still valid.

http://www.thenextbigwriter.com/tnbw_pu ... liche.html is the story I wrote in response to that review.

Hi CW,

Did I see another of yours on the recently sold list today? Congratulations on the sale! I'm sure you have discovered just how much more addictive CC is than you realised, now you are starting to make the sales.

Kind regards,

Hayley

Hi Hayley

Was nicely surprised myself, since I did not receive any mail, but just saw it on the recently sold content! Was about to post to you myself saying thanks for the golden words - they came true!

Yeah, this is really nice, and am glad that I happened across CC - both for the site and for the community of writers.

CW,

I'm only up to date because I'm addicted to the site! I love meeting the friendly authors here and I've learnt so much that has improved my writing too. It's also fun to wake up in the morning (I'm in Australia) and check out the sales and new articles available. Thanks for the compliments, though!

Kind regards,

Hayley
