Hello
I've just this week signed up as an author for Constant Content. I'm a homeschooling mum from Queensland, Australia, and as you can see by my user name, I'm a veterinarian. I only write on pet/animal topics, because it's my area of expertise and I have access to resources that aren't available to the general public.
I have a few regular writing clients who keep me fairly busy, but I'm always looking for more outlets for my services. Constant Content looks like a well managed site, and I love the friendly feel of these forums. I look forward to getting better acquainted with you.
Regards
Audrey

Re: Hi from Down Under
Hi Audrey,
Welcome from another writer from the glorious land downunder. I'm based in Sydney! I've been writing for CC for just over a year now and I absolutely love it! I am sure you will find it suits you, especially as pet articles are extremely popular. You might want to broaden your areas of expertise though - you are a mum - so you can write on parenting issues, you are homeschooling your children, so you can write on homeschooling too. Both of these topics are also popular and you might find you become recognised as an "expert" in those fields too.
Wishing you the best of luck,
Hayley

Re: Hi from Down Under
Thanks for the welcome, Hayley.
You're right, there are a few other topics on which I could write very well. The limiting factor is the number of hours in the day. I have my children and their schoolwork/activities during the day, and I still work part time as a vet, just because I love it.
I have one writing client who takes up to 15 articles a week if I can supply that many. My writing time is limited, and I feel I can better market myself with my qualifications and 17 years experience on the job by sticking to pet topics.
Who knows what the future holds though - never say never!
Have a great weekend.
Audrey

Hi Audrey,
The good thing about writing for CC is that you can when and what you like, so it can fit in with your already busy schedule. Let me know if you have any questions or want some help from another Aussie! I'll be happy to help you out. Enjoy the weekend - it probably will be HOT! Everyone else is chowing down on roast turkey for Thanksgiving and us Aussies are roasting in the heat!
Kind regards,
Hayley

Re: Hi from Down Under
Hi, Karrie... I've never tried making tofurky on my own, but we do get them at Wholefoods when they are available. But I will try to go through my stash of recipes and see if I can find a good tofurky recipe. We did do a poor man's version of tofurky day after Thanksgiving (and the tofurky from Wholefoods ran out) by cooking tofu and simmering it in turkey gravy (vegan, of course, no real turkey in there) that we got from a vegan store where I live. Then we just added some baked/broiled veggies (potatoes, carrots, asparagus, artichoke, etc.).
You can also try abbeysvegetarianrecipes.com - I'm subscribed to their email newsletter and they send out vegetarian/vegan recipes every week or so. (The latest one is Hopi Blue & Yellow Indian Cornbread that I'm going to try making this weekend.)
Great to hear your daughter made the choice herself! It's a healthy way to live
