Hi All,
I'm kinda shy, even on the computer apparently, because I've been putting off this introduction for the 3 weeks or so I've been here. My name is Missy and I'm a public school music teacher, but in my heart I've been a writer since elementary school! Finding this site has been a delight and a dream for me over the past month. I've been impressed by the way contributors to the forum jump in and help each other. Celeste has already helped me with several pressing issues . . . thanks, Celeste! I've written ten articles, sold one, and received my first rejection the other day. I guess rejection is part of the game and I need to develop a thick skin if I want to stick with this. And I do! So, thanks everyone. I'm here in Michigan, sweltering at the moment, but preparing for a fast cool-down this fall! Best of luck to you all!

Hi and here's an official welcome. Don't worry, a lot of writers are introverts (myself included!). I'm extremely shy in person which is funny because I'm outgoing online. Glad to hear you have a sale already!

It took me ages to get around to introducing myself on the forums here but I was SO glad once I did. I don't know the percentage of writers who actively participate in the community, but it definitely feels like a small, intimate gathering....glad to have you be a part of it!
