Don't give up!

Post by tiki66 »

Wow!

I have just spent a few days raking through search engines looking for people willing to pay for short stories, script writing, poetry etc and it has been very encouraging. Sites that actually have specific businesses asking for paid help in writing everything from theatre scripts to advertising ideas is something that has really grabbed my attention.
Even Yahoo which has recently taken over a large publishing site is confident of using some of my work. It takes most of these organisations up to 2 weeks to make a final decision on publishing.

One of the most positive responses was from an online magazine and I have posted their reply below. Sorry, no company name as I don’t want ‘a better writer getting in under my guard!’

Just thought I would do a final post here and shout out....... “Never give up on your dreams!” and …………..don’t listen to negativity such as that presented by nichewriter and jadedragon on this site!

Good bye and Good luck.

David

Hello David,
I love your stories of life on the outback.
I hope you will send more.
I don't have the final say as to when or if articles run in …………... I make recommendations and our publisher decides.
But I do hope we run yours.
We will need your address to send payment and a copy of the current magazine after articles are published.
Thanks again for your submission.
Any chance of photos to use with articles?
Sincerely
…………………

??? No one said that you can't make money selling short stories somewhere - just that it is not Constant Content's market.
Yahoo's Associated Content is no secret. They generally don't pay writers outside the USA though. I'm not negative, more like a CC cheerleader!
Constant Content is a great opportunity for anyone willing to write to for the many customers who come here. Just check the recent sales list if you want to see for yourself.

Well, that's your opinion. But I was hardly being negative in pointing out that CC does not accept first person POV, explained why, and even included the exception to the rule. I stated FACTS, not negativity. Geez! Any writer who does his homework knows that every publication has its own market and type of articles/stories it wants to publish.
