Hello all!
Newbie from the UK here… I’ve been lurking around after joining last week and I am really enjoying the atmosphere and feeling of general camaraderie here.
I’m not new to writing but new to freelancing and, after having my first article rejected for some misplaced commas and semi-colons, am feeling a teeny bit scared about the prospect of being blocked before I even get started. Being a qualified English teacher it’s slightly (ok, very!) embarrassing to discover that while it’s easy for me to pick out mistakes in other people’s work it’s just as easy to miss them in my own writing!
Time to start treating myself like a student – I’m off to find a red pen!
Nervous newbie!
