Hey, Everyone!

My name is Elaine and I live in Cashmere, Washington. I am the mother of two -- a daughter, Bree, who is a chef in Spokane, Washington, and Joe, my son, who is with the 10th Mt. out of Fort Drum in New York. Bree has given me two beautiful grandchildren, Eli who is five, and Savannah who is almost three. She will give me my namesake, and final grandchild from her in July -- Zoey Elaine. I live on Redneck Mt. (our name for our 40 acres) with the funniest man on the earth, Eric, and we have a big garden, a 10 year old Malamute and a six year old wolf. Eric has a Cessna 172 single engine plane and I love flying in it. I have been the Claims Manager for a family-owned business in Wenatchee, Washington, for the past 13 years. Before that I worked in the chemical dependency field for 10 years. I write poetry and make jewelry. I am hoping to supplement my income to satisfy my grandchild addiction by typing on line. I know next to nothing about this field but I like to write, am a fast learner, and very determined. Any help anyone can give me in this endeavor will be greatly appreciated. Who else out there is from Washington State?

Welcome! I'm happy to see another west coast writer. Seems I'm the only one online at 10:00 PM PDT and it gets a bit lonely :(

Where are you from, Celeste?

I currently live in southern California. I've been here for about 20 years or so. Before that, I lived in Japan, Guam, Virginia, and South Carolina.

I was born in Santa Rosa and lived in Boonville (a very small town close to Ukiah). We moved around alot between California, Oregon and Washington until I was a freshman and I have lived in Washington ever since -- about 30 years. I have been researching work at home programs for about three weeks now. My head is spinning. There are so many out there and to be truthful they all seem to offer the same things -- and, again, being truthful, they all seem to be hard to figure out. Tell me, Celeste, is it really possible for a non-professional writer to earn any money in this field?

Definitely. If you can write and pass Ed's muster, you can make money here. It doesn't take long before you start to realize that "Hmmn, maybe I am a real writer."

Hi from Spain!

I'm new here too, and I really like CC so far.
CC seems to be that it is a place where real freelancing can be done: instead of bidding on a client's project, and be bound to it, you also have the option to submit articles you want to write, and sell them if there are people interested in it.

As a journalist, my point of view on freelancing is pretty much that: you write about a topic you choose, and clients buy your work, and not just the other way around. It makes the job more limited if you are dependent on the client's projects.

Best regards,
Mariana

Hi Marianna. Most of us do a mix of both, here. Thing is, you can read the requests and just pick up what interests you, or what you think you can do a good job on.

Well Hello Madame! Welcome. Please make sure that if you have any questions, write support@constant-content.com, or even better enlist the help of the other writers (who are great!) on the forum. I am up here in Victoria BC, so we west coasters have to stick together.

Thanks, Constant, and everyone else! I guess the first thing I need help on is in how to submit an article. I'm pretty sure I saw a "Submit Article" section yesterday but for the life of me can't find it today. Help. Please.
