Greetings one and all-

I'm a new writer to the site. I currently work full time as a copy writer for a janitorial and restoration supply company, so I thought this site seemed like a great way to supplement my income. (Plus it was a way for me to write about something other than dustpans, dehumidifiers, and disinfectants.) My fiance and I are tying the knot next year, so every little extra penny helps to help us pay for a honeymoon and eventually a mortgage.

I do have some questions that I couldn't find answers to on the FAQ section of the site. I submitted three small articles to test the waters. All have been approved. I'm wondering how soon a sale typically happens once you've signed up. Can anyone share their experience?

Also, I tried doing a search for the articles that I wrote (while not logged in), to see if they would come up. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to locate my articles or even my profile. Is there a waiting period? Or did I do something wrong?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Hello and welcome :)

Have you tried clicking on the categories and subcategories you submitted your articles under? That's how I find my articles after they are approved.

As for how soon they sell... that's a tough one. I didn't sell anything until after I had posted my 15th article, but since then I've sold nearly every article, except for the most recent ones I've submitted. The fastest I've sold is within minutes of approval (not often for me I'm afraid) and the longest has been a couple years later. I suspect too that writing for the requests, will also bring on some faster sales. I tend not to write for the requests, so perhaps that's why it took me posting 15 articles to make my first sale.

My best advice is to keep writing and think of it as a long term investment. It takes no effort for you to leave an article up until it's sold, and in the meantime, you can also post more articles. The people will the most success here are the ones that have the most articles approved.

Hopefully that helps :)

Hi Caiman and welcome! I sold the first article I posted, but that was a fluke, I think, because I haven't sold another one since. It depends on what customers are looking for, so I figure that the more different subjects you have, the more likely you are to sell one.

From what I can see from the best selling authors here, you should have articles in all price ranges as well. I wrote a couple for public requests that were offering a good price, but they didn't get chosen, so I dropped the price a little to make them more saleable.
