Hello from Ohio

New kid on the block here. I'm actually quite new to the whole writing scene, but I think I can give this a go. I have aspirations of becoming a copywriter and I think this will be a nice way to get my feet wet writing. No disrespect intended to all of you fine folks who write here, as I think this is a very nice way to earn some extra money. A special thank you to those of you who run this site, and to Ed for taking on such a momentous task. Kudous!

No offense, just really busy coming up to Christmas. Don't worry, no-one replied to my introduction either, but everyone here is really friendly. I have certainly found a home for my writing here, and have made lots of good contacts all over the world. I'm from Sydney, Australia.
Welcome to CC, it is a great site to get your feet wet as an author, because you have the freedom to write as much, or as little as you like. My suggestion to all new writers here is to submit several articles on different topics, and build up a good portfolio. Many customers here don't bother making requests, because the articles have already been written 'on spec' by authors.
Be patient too, sometimes it takes several months before a particular article will sell. Sometimes an article will sell really quickly, so you just can't tell - it depends on what customers are looking for at the time.

Thank you Celeste and HaleyWriter for the welcome. Sorry for coming off as impatient. I do realize it was the weekend and that Christmas is VERY QUICKLY approaching. I also realize that most people on forums do not spend a lot of time at the newbie side of the house, rather they are posting in other areas where they are seeking help. In any event, I appreciate the welcome and look forward to building my writing chops at this site.
Once again, a big thanks to those who put in the time and effort to make this place possible!
