Introducing Myself

Post by MarilynCMorris »

I'm a novelist by nature, freelance writer by necessity. While I have 6 books in print, I'm not making any money, so I realize I need to pursue more articles sites. I'm single, have 3 grown children, 5 grandchildren and one grown child who has returned home due to the economy. We're trying to adjust to this new environment and generally treat each other as roommates, more than mother/son. It ain't easy!
I think most of the articles I can produce would center upon my background; that of being a military brat, following my army officer father all over the world in the post WWII years. Title is Once a Brat.
Also, I have systemic lupus erythematosus and have published a book that has been recommended by the Lupus Now magazine of the Lupus Foundation of America, titled: Diagnosis: Lupus: The Intimate Journal of a Lupus Patient.

As for other articles, I might be able to relate to some other content, such as Dating as a Senior Citizen (a very short article, btw!) and nostalgia pieces.
I'm glad I found this site and will be checking in from time to time.

Hola chica!

Self-publishing is rough. I wrote a fiction book and queried 20 agents for representation. I received about 15 rejections..ouch! It's the way it goes, ya know? Sorry the books aren't workin out. If it makes ya feel any better at all, the experts over on writers.net say things are tough for print right now and agents and publishers are being really picky.

My Immunology professor had a lupus lab. He was funded by a women with a lot of money. I often wonder whatever happened to his research. He used to lecture on some of his research findings, which was really interesting. Hopefully, your sponsorship will bring you some good readership.

Welcome and good luck!

Hi Marilyn,

Your background sounds interesting--should be a rich source of article ideas!

C-C is a very supportive and stimulating community. I hope you'll enjoy writing here as much as I do. Welcome!

Hello:

My name is James and I just recently signed up here at CC. Being that I am fairly new to the site, I will probably ask a lot of questions from time to time so hopefully the support team will be patient with me :).
