And Now, For Your Entertainment...

My name is Jester King; that is, of course, a pseudonym. I was told about Constant Content by a fellow writer some time ago, but until recently, I have not taken my craft seriously. My forte is generally fiction, but I have scratched by with informational articles for a different site up until now. I see Constant Content as a venue to write what I wish and pray that it sells.

As soon as I've posted this, I'm going to spend a few minutes perusing some of the "hotter" topics that have gotten more conversational traffic to see if I can learn a thing or two. I've already heard that only about seventy percent of what I write will actually be sold (assuming any of it sells at all). That being said, I suppose Constant Content is my desperate effort to make enough money to pay my end-of-the-month bills.

If you have any constructive advice, please feel free to share; I'm all ears.

Welcome, Jester!

You are on the right track in reading the forums. I've been here two months and I think I've read almost every post on CC. There is much to learn from both veterans and beginners here. Spending just "a few minutes" will probably turn into spending a few months!

Be sure to read all the writer's guidelines, FAQs, and tutorials too. My first two rejections were for silly formatting mistakes (font, and title mismatch), things I would have known about if I'd read the guidelines better. Luckily, if you are a good writer who can self-edit and learn from your mistakes, CC is very understanding about those foolish formatting errors when you start out.

Good luck to you :) We'll all be watching for your first sale!

Yo Jester, Do what Debbi said :D

From my limited perspective: Ask every question that pops into the ol bean. I write a bit for other sites and absolutely none of them communicate with the writers as well as CC. That even goes for the almighty eHow. Bone up on your English skills. I never went to college and now I am wearing out my wife's copy of "The Little Brown Handbook".

Glad to have you aboard. Take care. - Phil
