Hi everyone,

It is wonderful to be here, really. I have always love to write but had not realised I could make money from it until recently. To be honest, I thought my writing wasn't good enough for anyone to actually want to pay for it. I still think that but I thought I would still try my luck here. The reason is that I have been doing work for peanuts for a while and it has gotten to the point that I really need to start making a serious income to support myself. I suppose my main problem lies in the fact that I cannot seem to write quick, filler articles, even if I am being paid only $1 per piece.
This is my one and only chance of actually being able to support myself and pay my rent. The recession hit Romania hard and I am jobless, in fact I have been since February. Therefore, I am terrified that I will get rejected. I just submitted an article today and I have no idea if my article is terrible or not. But, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best.
I have been reading the forums and I really hope I am accepted because you all seem like such lovely people.

Welcome to CC! Take your time and learn about the nuances of the CC site. The first few submissions are the hardest. Once you get over the first few hurdles, your confidence will build.

Welcome, Anne. It can be a little nerve-wracking at first, but there are many warm-hearted writers here to cheer you on. I wish you all the best here at CC.

Hi! There are several authors here who are quite generous with their time. If you private message one of them and ask really nicely, they might be willing to look over your article and offer some constructive criticism. One of the authors here did that for me, and it was very helpful. It turns out that most of my errors were with punctuation.
