New Writer On CC

Hi all,

My name is Karrie and I have been a journalist/webdeveloper/author/freelancer for about 12 years now! I have been registered on CC for about a year but have never really explored it until this week. I also write for Suite101.com but find the adsharing to be a teadious and unprofitable venture. I thought I would give this a try.

I am a single homeschooling mom of two beautiful children who are both super bright. My 12-year-old is working on highschool level courses in grade 7 and my 10 year old daughter is working on grade 6 and seven work in some areas. There are days where I cannot keepup to them but I love it. In the last year it has become my quest to take them on a trip throughout Canada and the US in an RV and it occured to me I needed to generate some decent income online to be able to do so... hence I ended up back at CC as a starting point.

In the mean time I am studying through a theological college to become an Anglican Priest.

I am looking forward to exploring the site, making some sales and most of all doing what I have always loved, writing!

I don't see how you have any time for writing with kids in the home all day long every day. I never really started writing professionally until mine were off at school for a few hours a day.

Hi Karrie, glad to meet you! Sounds like you have super-human discipline/motivation, so CC should be a good fit. I hope you find success here, and if you need any help along the way please ask. I homeschooled my kids until my eldest was in 6th grade. (one of my daughters is now in 7th grade too) I did some writing at the time, but not to the extent I am now - homeshooling was fun and well worthwhile, but exhausting.
