Re-introducing myself

Post by deniseg »

I had an epiphany this morning that I want to share. I have been registered with CC for several years, yet have never had an article published. I now know the reason. In part due to my being bipolar and having a hard time sticking to one thing, and also in part to my lack of commitment to writing my very best, the few articles I have submitted were rejected.

I have made a promise to myself to begin submitting only my best work, and to stay the course, to dedicate myself to making CC my home and my place to make a living, rather than flitting from one site and one empty promise to another.

Now, I feel better.

With that attitude, I'm sure you'll do well. :) Remember--you're not alone here, so if you run into any snags or need another pair of eyes on your work, just holler!

DeniseG,

As a newbie to writing, submitting articles and facing rejection, I want to thank you for your candid statements. It's nice to hear that others have the same issues I face.

I've only submitted 3 articles and have had one pass the editors' review. There are some secrets I learned immediately. Keep your sentence structure concise. It's better to have a paragraph with multiple succinct sentences, than to have one or two long sentences. Placing commas strategically, to set ideas apart, makes articles more acceptable. Then your reader hears "your voice" while reading your work.

It seems rejection is due to simple grammar and punctuation errors and not content most of the time.

I look forward to hearing more about your successes in the near future.

Regards,

Scotty Waters
