Hi all. Another Newbie!

I joined CC recently and just had my first article approved. I'm so excited! I was 95% certain it would be rejected because I used that dreadful word, affect, several times and I never know whether to start it with an a or an e. I literally looked up the rules each time I used it and again when I proofread it and still had no idea if I was using it correctly or not 
. I have a lot of ideas for articles and can't wait to get started on them. I didn't want to get too far ahead of myself until I knew that I could pass muster. I guess my first assignment should be putting some information on my profile but every time I look at it I develop a severe case of writers block! Reading the forum has been very helpful and I look forward to being part of the community here.
