Hello Everyone!

My name is Marlo and I am new to this neck of the woods. Officially joining as of today (I had some log-in issues that CC very quickly resolved - thank you btw), I would like to take a moment of your time to introduce myself.

After spending many expensive years in University, I decided not to use my hard-earned education once graduating. Instead, I continued on with the job I had that put me through Uni. in the first place. I am a former geological technical editor / writer turned freelancer, but no more technical stuff for this girl! I'm sure, much like the rest of you, I love what I do very much. I will try my hand at writing on any topic, but travel, economics, home and garden, and global news, especially legal issues, are my preference. Writing is my full-time career and it is how I make a living. It is not a side-gig for me.

After one-too-many seasons of -30c, combined with the natural effects of the recession, I had it up to *here* and moved south. Far south. I am from Canada and currently reside full time in Mexico, Playa Del Carmen to be exact. I had lived in Cancun for a year and a half, but found it too touristy, so I now live in Playa with my two dogs. Much better.

That is me in a nutshell. I look forward to this new branch in my career. If anyone has advice or suggestions, I am all ears...or in this case, eyes. I am always open to learning new things. No matter how many years you excel at something, there is always more to learn.

Marlo grew up in Canada and is a former technical editor turned freelance writer and SEO enthusiast. After graduating University with a year of Legal Studies added to her major in Criminology, she continued consulting, providing technical writing and copyediting services to private companies.

With more than 16 years of incorporated experience, she has achieved much accreditation and remains successful in supplying freelance services to a wide variety of clients.

Her love of books, combined with years of travel across North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Africa, and Russia, have added to her passion for writing.

Her interest in current news and global affairs has made her somewhat of an information junkie. She is working towards her long-term goal of an international column.
