Just joined CC and looking forward to writing. Working on my 1st request and learning a whole lot of new things.

BTW I've been trying to get answers to a few questions, can you maybe help me out please...

1. On the Requested Content list there is the title of the requested article, the buyers name and a number (purchase rating) next to the buyer’s name. What does
this number mean?

2. In the request bio there is an option to contact the buyer. What is this for? Can I ask for more details about the request? Must I submit my ideas to the buyer
before I start writing an article?

3. If I fill out a request am I the only one writing for this request or are there many writers writing the same articles and then the buyer chooses the one he
prefers?

4. If my article for a request is not purchased what happens to it then?

5. Am I right in assuming the "Buy Usage" means that an article can be published somewhere else and that it is OK to sell / list it on CC as well?

My apologies for all the questions but I’d like to be 100% sure of all my facts before I get going and I can’t seem to find clear information in the FAQ or Tutorial.

Hi again! Here are the answers to your questions.

1. The purchase rating refers to the number of articles that the buyer has purchased through CC.
2. Yes, you may ask the customer for more details and/or suggest ideas to the buyers before you begin to write. You cannot provide outside contact information though.
3. You are correct in thinking that you may have competition. Don’t let that bother you though, because the article is still likely to sell at some point in the future. The amount of competition you get sometimes depends on the topic or the pricing.
4. The article goes into the general pool of articles if the customer decides not to buy it. Currently, there seems to be a glitch in how long this may take, but it is supposed to take 3 days.
5. If you have an article that has been published elsewhere, but you still own the rights to it, you can post it on CC as long as the byline is the same. The editors need to be able to verify that it is actually your article. You can also take an article that sold for usage on CC and place it online elsewhere.
