I'm here to write and make some money - this is my only source of income for the time being, so....must make the most of it. I hope to be able to be part of the community - can anybody give me some advice on how to maximise my chances of selling articles?

LOL. OK, here's what I did with "Mentor.." I sent an email to an educators' magazine and suggested they include a category for "Teachers Who Have Inspired Us," and referred them to CC suggesting they search "Article, Education, Inspirational" and read my submission.
Good News and Bad-good news. They loved the idea.
Now for the sad state of education today; they said they might use my article in some future issue but to lead off with my story WOULD SET THE STANDARD TOO HIGH and possibly intimidate readers, thus not generating any future submissions.
Well Hot Damn. What a great left handed compliment. Ouch!
