Frustrated & confused, please adise. Article submission.
I am fairly new to CC. I submitted my first article and it was rejected. I made the couple of changes that I thought were the cause of the rejection and again it was rejected. I let that one go and wrote up a new article in response to a public request a couple of weeks ago and could not find the title under the public request in the submission form so I just handed it in as no request. For the past couple of weeks the article has since been sitting under review, my first question is when should I expect an answer? Secondly, I just wrote up an article a couple of hours ago for a public request, this request expires tomorrow. I tried to submit it but then got this, 'Uh Oh, This Submission is Not Complete. This Title is Already Registered!' The request is still reflecting as 'Open' so I presume that it means that one my still send in article submissions? Then why do I get the Submission not complete notification? Please assist on what I should do next and what does that actually mean. I have been reading other forum posts but can't seem to find an answer.
Re: Frustrated & confused, please adise. Article submission.
That error message just means that the title you chose is already in use by another author. Change the title on your document and on the submission form and it should go through.
Sometimes requesters pull their request before the expiration date. That is probably what happened with your second submission. If an aritcle is on spec then it could take a week or more to be reviewed. If there are a lot of public and private requests in the queue, they get precedence over on spec artciles.
Be patient CC has a longer lead time than some other sites but once you have passed through the guantlet, it will be well worth all the time and effort invested.

Thanks for your help Debbi. I will send it with another title. Just one more question quick. I am now filling in submission form and I get this:
# At least 1/3 of your article Details Portion Has 1/3 of the Word Count!
# Breaks between paragraphs
# Single spaced lines
# No strange formatting such as errant capitals, or unexpected line breaks.
I got a green check for the first point, now how do the other points work and do I also need to get a green check for each of them?

Re: Frustrated & confused, please adise. Article submission.
The 1/3 is the only item that gives you a checkmark.
Put an empty line between paragraphs.
Don't double-space within a paragraph.
You can't italicize, bold, or do any other unusual formatting becuase the submission form is text-only. You can add these things in your document if they are absolutely necessary, like the name of a bacterium.
Hope that hleps

Re: Frustrated & confused, please adise. Article submission.
Debbi -- I don't think the "strange formatting" instruction has to do with italics, bold, etc. It's fine to include itals or bold where appropriate (e.g., I usually put headings in bold, and occasionally italicize a word for emphasis). The only issue with that is when the buyer sees the excerpt, that formatting doesn't show. But as far as I know, it does show when the buyer downloads the article.
Re: Frustrated & confused, please adise. Article submission.
Yeah, I meant in the submission form--the short and long summaries.

Hi Debbi and 4rumid, thanks for all your help. I have 3 articles submitted and under review at the moment and I pray that it all goes through. Thanks for all your help and support guys!

Also amor, our regular Editor was on vacation for the last two weeks of March. We had a substitute editor, but I'm sure things weren't approved as quickly as possible. So be patient, as I know Ed is probably playing catch up.

Thanks Elizabeth but now I have another issue. I submitted an article called 'Insuring a wedding' and it was rejected. I checked the article many times and even asked my fiance to go over it. I was so convinced that this would be it but no, it was not. Is there anyway I can send the article to one of you or one of the editors to advise on what I did wrong in this article? I just want to sort this out before submitting anymore work or getting suspended from CC.
I got the below rejection message from CC:
